Some rooms are filled with people. Others are filled with purpose, passion, and possibility.

What an incredible experience at ModX in Buckhead! ❤️

A special shoutout to MAISEY 🫂@dustandpaper, founder of the @asterprojectatl, for delivering yet another phenomenal speech! Your voice and passion continue to inspire meaningful change.

Thank you to Tasha of @modexstudio for creating a space where powerful stories, creativity, and meaningful connections come together.

To Marius Anthony, your kindness, support, and willingness to help are genuinely appreciated. Thank you for being such an incredible person!

It was wonderful connecting with @kimberlylatricejones , an extraordinary advocate, storyteller, and founder of Fork the System. Her dedication to empowering communities and challenging perspectives is truly inspiring.

And the one and only @turquoisemusic talented DJ, artist, and Executive Director of Music & Creative Culture at Press Zero Management! 🎶 Her story deserves a stage of its own, and we can absolutely envision her inspiring an audience at ModX one day!

Also in attendance was @marie.528hz , Founder of Press Zero Management and Director of Partnerships, whose mission is to connect creatives, amplify voices, and turn meaningful relationships into opportunities. ☎️

✨ The right rooms do more than create connections. They create possibilities.

Grateful for everyone who continues to show up, inspire, and make an impact!

I mean look at her! @dustandpaper is the founder of the @asterprojectatl . I got to experience a night of stories that changed me forever. I heard stories of the victims of police gun violence and was shocked at what I had heard. Check them out & donate if you can.

Shooting my shot for a chance to live out a dream, I thought was over!

FYI .. I graduated Radio School 8 months pregnant! Then became an Indie Pioneer of Podcasting back in 2012/2013..

I was thrown into politics after talking about Kapernick & Stacey Abrams.. Then I made it to BET for a TV show about activism in 2019 🙏🏽 So I put my personal career to the side..

We all know how 2020 went 😅

Now I’m in a contest to win Top Host & $25K 🙌🏾

Will you vote for me 🫶🏾 to get to #1 in my division by Thursday (currently 4th) 😩 Its FREE

This night was really special to me.

I got to spend some time with Maisie @dustandpaper , the beautiful woman behind the @asterprojectatl , and see what she has created. The photo exhibit was absolutely beautiful. Being able to see a space where people can remember their loved ones, honor them, speak for them and keep their stories alive really touched me.

I also got to see Press Zero’s favorite artist, @turquoisemusic , perform her song “Elevation” and it was BEAUTIFUL. ❤️

And then I got to hear @kimberlylatricejones speak. And also see @shopboyfat1 and @shopboymeany such a great performance 🫂

When I tell you that woman changed my entire trajectory that night. Whew. Sometimes you can walk into a room thinking you are there for one reason and walk out realizing you were supposed to be there for something completely different.

I left inspired. I left thinking. And I definitely left with a different perspective on what I want to do next.

Thank you Maisie for creating such a beautiful and meaningful space. I am so grateful I got to experience it. ❤️

Shout out to @alaniletang from @atlantanewsfirst for her compassionate approach to this coverage. She spent more time speaking with and listening to families than she did in front of the camera.
Thank you.

Slowly but surely making the message known.

Turquoise Music at @asterprojectatl Art As Our Witness in Atlanta — surrounded by artists, advocates, storytellers and community using their voices for something bigger. 💙

From founder @dustandpaper, our incredible host @iamsharbates, speaker @kimberlylatricejones, @lacooljill, @spam_grier, @djcalvinatl, @wearecommunitychoir, and my own people @marie.528hz + @presszero — this room was FULL of purpose.

I performed. I listened. I learned. I connected.

But most importantly, we showed up for the families whose stories deserve to be heard, remembered and honored.

The event may be over, but the work of @asterprojectatl continues. Please keep supporting, sharing and giving. 💙

Turquoise Music joined @asterprojectatl’s Art As Our Witness in Atlanta for an evening centered on families who have lost loved ones to police violence. 💙

Last night was bigger than a performance.

We listened as families told us who their loved ones really were — their names, their stories, their memories and the lives that existed beyond a headline.

There was grief in that room, but there was also LOVE. EMPATHY. COMPASSION. COMMUNITY. AND GIVING.

Founded by artist @dustandpaper, The Aster Project works alongside Georgia families using art, storytelling and public records to honor loved ones lost to police violence and preserve their humanity.

The evening was hosted by @iamsharbates, with @kimberlylatricejones as speaker, and I was honored to contribute my art to something with this much purpose.

You’ll hear “Give It More” by Turquoise Music behind this video because sometimes giving it more means:

More compassion. More attention. More voice. More support.

The event is over. The work is not.

Please continue supporting @asterprojectatl. Donate, volunteer, share their work and learn about the families whose stories they are preserving.

Support The Aster Project

Special thank you to @presszero and its founder @marie.528hz for helping bring awareness to the event and its mission
