September 2021 @skipthedishes @mccanncanada @perlorian @softcitizenx It was a professional achievement of mine to work with the @perlorian brothers since I first saw their work. They combine a fantastical and absurdist vision with finely tuned technical filmmaking. keeping a preference for practical fx and set pieces results in beautiful, engaging films from filmmakers at the peak of their craft. Our team was challenged across the board on this film. We designed and built a custom couch that pulled out into a product display table with a Skip the Dishes order already placed. It had to look homemade, it had to work every time for multiple takes and it had to be simple to operate. That was a tough one. There were 3 spots in this contract with multiple locations, lots of different sets, day and night shoots, etc, etc. Bringing the @perlorian brothers' vision to life was a dream come true for me. Thank you to @softcitizenx for the opportunity and to my team for bringing the talent and effort we needed to get the job done. I can’t wait for the next one! 🤘 PROD CO - @softcitizenx @evapreger @linkyork @robburns33 CREATIVE - @mccanncanada @robtrickey Chris Duffett DIRECTOR - @perlorian DP - @jacksonparrell PRODUCER - kittienoir PM - @brotherdavo AD: Marc Guspie @themgus Gaffer: @eyedeal_pro Grip: @lennobuddy DIT: Randy Perry VTR: Scott Wylie Wardrobe: @adellegaudet H&M: Raquel Atienza @melodie_makeup PD - @dylan_juckes @seslercompany BUYERS - @hiljenset ASST BUYER - @brentgeoby PROPS - @bradenlab ART - @tracydcoutho @thomas.a.hart @hesuschrist @liilramsay @jasonnormore FOOD STYLIST - @noahfoodstylist MAINDISH - @thetravelinggoalie

September 2021 @baldersoncheeseca @thedeli_productionagency This was a fun little spot for the 140th anniversary of @baldersoncheeseca, a cheese we love and eat all the time! Balderson’s asked the question “what has aged as well as aged our cheese?” Maybe cars? Nope, who wants to hand crank their Model T everyday? How about cameras? Sitting still while a flash explodes? I don’t think so! We kept the production design simple and clean to ensure our audience focused on the product, while accentuating the Balderson brand language by vinyl wrapping Model T components in gold. Our team also nailed a few practical FX tricks to keep things interesting! As always, @kesterbirch kept the product looking tasty as could be. With @matt__eastman in the director chair and @thedeli_productionagency producing, there was no chance this wouldn’t be a success. And it certainly was. As always, thank you to our team for your hard work. I say it a lot, and I’ll say it again - I couldn’t do it without y’all! June 2021 @planetfitness @robjacklin Big Sky Film Production @barkleyus Xrystal with an “x”! How do you design the world of an unbearable “fitfluencer”? Neons of your own name? Check. Weighted cell phone cases? Check. Self branded water bottles and ring lights? Check! Pink everywhere? Of course! As a creative exercise, it’s always wonderful when the production design is leveraged to show our characters personality. Through production design, the audience immediately and intuitively knows who Xrystal is, with limited need for exposition. Thanks to our directors, @hellogilberto and Jordan Briendel, and Big Sky Film Productions for letting us flex some muscle with this one! Like always, a big thank you to our art team. There is an astronomical amount of work that goes into a spot like this and our team's dedication and work ethic is unmatched. June 2021 @fela.tv @bestbuy Union Advertising Canada LP This spot for @bestbuy produced by @fela.tv was ambitious. With two units shooting simultaneously, and our crew split across units and locations, there were real challenges. But thanks to our talented and hardworking team, and the vision of our talented director @jacksontisi we got it done! With creative by UNION Advertising, this commercial highlights the importance of technology in a world adapting to the confines of COVID, showing how @bestbuy provides the tools we need to stay connected to our schools, family, friends and loved ones. Congrats to our art team, who really nailed this one. Thank you all! June 2021 @gearshift_productions for PEEK-A-ROO @spinmaster @spinmaster always has magical and creative commercials, and this PEEK-A-ROO spot with @barkervision directing, produced by @gearshift_productions and @zacreaneybarker was no different. Here we had the opportunity to integrate an LED volume wall, which is a background of LED panels that shows a pre-rendered set or backdrop that can change in relation to our camera position. This produces a parallax effect, adding a sense of scale, depth and realism previously unthinkable with painted backdrops in a studio. Designing for a LED volume wall presents a unique challenge of working physical props, set dressing and design elements seamlessly in the virtual space created by a volume wall. Here we had to carefully consider our scale and camera positioning to ensure our foreground elements added the necessary texture and detail, effectively melding the physical set and the virtual, animated universe of PEEK-A-ROO, displayed on the volume. I think we nailed it and I’m looking forward to the opportunity to work with this technology again. The possibilities are virtually unlimited. AUGUST OF 2021 @seedsofchange @mowadinc @valiantpictures This was a creative I was excited about! Build a rice paddy in a suburban backyard - why not! Directed by Jared Lapidus and produced by @mowadinc our team built a 60’x30’ pool, filled it with muddy water, lined the edges with sod and anchored rice plants across the surface! MAY 2021 @huggies @feelslikehomefilms Kicking off the busy season of 2021 is a fun spot for @huggies @pullups @kccorp produced by @feelslikehomefilms with creative by @ogilvy, directed by the wonderful and talented @christinahodnet. The challenge here was to create a bathroom in what is actually a small dinette. Imagine building a bathroom set in a house that already had 7 bathrooms! Challenge accepted!
