We had a wonderful field trip recently to the farm at @tilden.nature.area! We got a behind the scenes tour led by an @ebrpd ranger who answered all our questions about the animals and even let us feed a few of them. It was great to spend a warm, sunny day on the farm with homeschool friends 🐮🐷🐇🐐🦆🪿

We have a few more field trips coming up soon! Check out our events calendar and join us!

If you've been hiking in the deep East Bay lately, you may have spotted a tarantula or two along the trails. September/October means peak mating season for them. During this time of year, males begin to roam about, actively searching for females to court and mate with.

Even though they're bigger than the spiders we're used to seeing, they're harmless & actually looking to avoid contact with people.

I spoke to Kristina Parkison from @ebrpd & hikers at Sunol Regional Wilderness about why this time of year is so special

The calm one 🌊 Berkeley Marina is sea level, wide open, and the skyline sits across the water. Walk the shoreline, go low, and let the water do the work. Spot 2 of 5.

History feels different when you can step into it.

On October 17, @ebrpd brings the Sunol Heritage Festival to the Sunol Visitor Center.

Hands-on activities, cultural demonstrations and live music invite families to connect with the stories of the land and the people who have shaped it.

@specialeventsrents is excited to support the gathering space around that experience. A thoughtful event footprint gives demonstrations, conversations and shared discoveries room to unfold.

Join the free festival from 11 AM–3 PM at Sunol Wilderness Regional Preserve. Parking is $5.
