The DC area is filled with Swans! 🦢 We really enjoyed connecting with VLGS alumni and meeting 3L Online Hybrid Juris Doctor (OHJD) students in Washington, D.C. last week. There is a deep connection between VLGS and our nation's Capital with alumni working in policy, government agencies, and law firms impacting federal protections for animals and the environment. OHJD students came to DC to meet each other and many of the VLGS alums in the area. Among those in attendance were several animal law and policy advocates who are currently working in animal protection and conservation, including Willow Hogan @adkowlgirl and Scott Hooper.

As a student at ALPI, you have access to a wide connection of animal law and policy professionals in major cities like DC and across the country. Whether you are on campus, online, or hybrid, there are many opportunities to connect with other Swans!

We had a great time helping build the multi-sport court at John Bayne Elementary School with @kaboom and Giving Together with @donaldson20015 and @j.c.donaldson! As a former geography major, it was a blast painting the different counties for the playground! Thanks to Scott from the office of Senator @chrisvanhollen for coming to support this awesome endeavor.

Today I participated in the Walk to End Alzheimer's in honor of my grandfather, Didi. I had a wonderful time with my family reminiscing about Didi and talking about all of our amazing family memories. Enjoy the family pictures, and if you haven't donated yet, please consider chipping in $5 toward my $500 goal for the Alzheimer's Association.
I've donated my birthday (just a month away! 🎈🥳) to the Alzheimer's Association to support research to fight for the first Alzheimer's survivor and to provide critical support to caregivers of those with Alzheimer's. #ENDALZ #Walk2EndAlz #ShowYourPurple 💜

Today was the big day! We celebrated the #PACTAct in front of the Capitol with a bipartisan group of members who all want this bill to pass so we can #protectourpets! We had lots of dogs, and even a couple bunnies. 🐕🐩🐇 Amaretto says we have the purrrrfect storm to pass the PACT Act this Congress! 🐈😹🐾 Thanks @humanerescue and @humanesociety for making this event a success!

Sophie is a HUGE fan of the #PACTAct because it will #protectourpets. She is so grateful that @repcummings supports the bill to save so many animals.
