At 68 kgs of body weight, 8.2 kgs of bike weight and another 2000 ml of fluids on the bike for hydration, churning out 125 w average over a period of 3 hours seemed impossible to me.

It took a lot of understanding of science, aerodynamics in particular to optimise the bike leg. Thankfully, aerodynamics was my forte during flying training in the academy.

The helmet, the frontal area, the shape of the water bottle, position of the bottle cages, resistance of tyres w.r.t road, shaving legs, getting the beard trimmed, staying bent over on the aero handle bars, practising the whole ride again and again, to wear socks or not, the fabric of the tri suit, the pattern and weave and how effectively they act as a second skin, where to keep the energy gels, spare tube and the air pump, the list is long.

What also mattered is I spent more than 300+ hours indoor on the bike gaining aerobic base and getting my legs adjusted to the position.

What next?

Getting more aero! Pushing more watts, reducing the time for 90 kms, better nutrition plan and so on.

support system appreciation post 2/5

as the wise man say, "never say never when someone ask for you out for beer, you never know what's coming" & it stands true for me till date, reminiscing to the day when I was leaving office and this weird guy ask me if I wanna join em' for a beer @toitbeerco and how can I just deny that. It has never been the same since thn - tons of drunken memories, cries and laughter, heartbreaks and more, this bond is forged in fire of sauron.

this picture goes way back when our biker man was riding through the NH8 and he remembered about this quiet, little coastal town on the edge of western coast of India where he spent a christmas, which I'm sure he will never forget. hahahahhahaha

blessed to have met this amazing beauty of a soul in my life, from flying Sukhoi to writting novels to holding shit loads of biking records to running marathons motivating '000s of people with your @tedx_official talks, you have always been around for me and I truly appreciate that!

Cheers! 🍻

Ladies and Gentlemen, @alcatrazdey for you!
