Artwork 1/4 for @exultatechambersingers 45th Season.

I was thrilled to work with Exultate once again this year to create the artwork for this milestone season. This year I really wanted to celebrate the human artistry within their chamber choir and all the energy and emotion that comes from witnessing a live choral concert. To complement this, each concert’s artwork was created analog with @derwentart_canada coloured pencils on vibrant sheets of paper. Getting to work traditionally for this project was a joy and all thanks to a trusting client.

After reviewing digital sketch proof, we ditched the screen in favour of paper and pencils and I scanned the finished artwork to create the final layout with type and the anniversary mark I designed.

Their first concert of the season, “Double, Double Toil and Trouble” is on Friday, October 30th at Calvin Presbyterian Church. 26 Delisle Avenue, Toronto 🎃

SEASON 6 - 2009-2010
TMT presented four productions in their 6th season, in five different venues, beginning with a concert performance of their double bill of AENEAS AND DIDO (James Rolfe / Andre Alexis) and DIDO AND AENEAS (Purcell / Tate) at the Glenn Gould Studio, featuring Monica Whicher, Alex Dobson, Teri Dunn, Vicki St Pierre and the Exultate Chamber Singers, followed by the world premiere of THE MUMMERS MASQUE, by Dean Burry, commissioned by TMT with the assistance of the Ontario Arts Council, at the Victoria College Chapel with Laura Whalen, Krisztina Szabo, John Kriter, Giles Tomkins and Pierre Chartrand with a wonderful band. The season continued with BRIEF LIVES, the brilliant one-man show by Patrick Garland based on the stories of John Aubrey, featuring William Webster, Katherine Hill and Terry McKenna and the year culminated with the bilingual production A MOLIERE CELEBRATION at the Al Green Theatre, featuring a double bill of Le Bourgeois Gentilhomme (in English) and Le Malade Imaginaire (in French), with incidental music by Lully and Charpentier, with Derek Boyes, Marie-Nathalie Lacoursière, Arlene Mazerolle, Jean Francois Gagnon, Dorothéa Ventura, Shannon Mercer and others. We were grateful for the support and encouragement of the Toronto Arts Council, Canada Council for the Arts, Opera Canada and a growing list of donors and subscribers.

SEASON 3 - 2006-2007
TMT presented two productions and co-presented four others, beginning with John Blow’s VENUS AND ADONIS at the Winchester Street Theatre with a great cast and band and the debut of Gabriel Cropley, who became our longtime and beloved lighting designer. This was followed by THE FAIRY QUEEN with Tafelmusik, musically directed by Richard Egarr and featuring outstanding performances by Derek Boyes and Ann-Marie MacDonald. CBC’s OnStage invited TMT to curate SCOTS WHA HAE in the Glenn Gould Studio with guests Meredith Hall and Shaggy Haggis in January, 2007 with a national broadcast. Our Purcell Cycle continued in April at the Young Centre (with thanks to Soulpepper) with the double-bill of DIDO AND AENEAS and the world premiere of AENEAS AND DIDO by James Rolfe and André Alexis with Monica Whicher, Alex Dobson, Teri Dunn and Vicki St. Pierre in the cast, the Exultate Chamber Singers and a wonderful band. Marie-Nathalie Lacoursière choreographed the production. Two noon hour performances in May at the COC’s Richard Bradshaw Amphitheatre rounded out the season. We were grateful to receive generous support from the Ontario Arts Council, Toronto Arts Council, Canada Council for the Arts and the Trillium Foundation and substantial and supportive coverage from the Globe and Mail, Toronto Star and Opera Canada.🇨🇦
