YNW Melly’s legal team has filed a new motion seeking to have key digital evidence thrown out ahead of his retrial, currently scheduled for January 6, 2027.

According to court documents, his attorneys are challenging evidence obtained from Instagram, Snapchat, Google and an iPhone through search warrants issued in March 2024. The defense argues that investigators relied on previously obtained illegal evidence, made misleading statements and left out important information when seeking the warrants.

If the judge grants the motion, prosecutors could lose access to key digital records that may play a role in the upcoming retrial. Melly has remained behind bars since 2019 as his legal battle continues.

A major development in the kidnapping and m*rder of 22-year-old Eddrick Malik Bethune in North Miami. 💔

Authorities have arrested 21-year-old Devorise Carl Johnson in connection with the case. According to investigators, Johnson and four other men allegedly targeted Bethune outside his apartment complex on October 4. Two suspects reportedly posed as police officers, using flashing lights and clothing marked “POLICE” before handcuffing and abducting him.

Investigators say Johnson and two others entered Bethune’s apartment, where a sh**tout broke out with another person inside. Johnson was reportedly sht multiple times before escaping through a third-floor window. Bethune was later found dad from multiple g*nshot wounds along a roadway in Southwest Miami-Dade.

Johnson was arrested after being released from the hospital and now faces multiple felony charges, including first-degree m*rder, kidnapping, armed robbery, armed burglary and impersonating a police officer.

Social media photos appearing to show Johnson and Bethune together have since surfaced, raising questions about their reported friendship. The investigation remains ongoing.

An 18-year-old detention deputy in San Antonio, Texas, has been fired after photos showing her posing with jail inmates went viral on social media.

Karla Beltran had been employed by the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office for just over 100 days after starting on July 1. The photos show Beltran in uniform making various hand gestures and posing for pictures while inmates behind a glass window joined in.

According to reports, Beltran was terminated during her probationary period. Officials are still investigating the circumstances surrounding the photos, including who took them and how they ended up online. No criminal charges have been reported.

Former Miami Dolphins star Tyreek Hill has been ordered to pay $500,000 in damages after a Miami jury found him liable for two counts of b*ttery in a civil lawsuit filed by his estranged wife, Keeta Vaccaro.

According to NBC News and the Associated Press, the verdict was reached Tuesday following a weeklong trial involving allegations of physical and verbal ab*se during their marriage. The jury found Hill responsible for two incidents dating back to January 2024 and April 2025, but ruled that he was not liable for eight additional claims, including ass**lt and continuing domestic violence.

During the trial, Vaccaro testified about alleged physical altercations, while Hill denied most of the accusations. However, the former Dolphins receiver acknowledged pushing Vaccaro during one argument, causing damage to a wall.

The jury awarded Vaccaro $500,000 in compensatory damages but declined to award additional punitive damages. The ruling comes as the 32-year-old receiver continues recovering from a serious knee injury and explores a potential return to the NFL.

The league is also reviewing the allegations under its Personal Conduct Policy, meaning Hill could still face disciplinary action separate from the civil verdict.
