Who won the exchange of face slaps? Also……

YES, That was realtime audio 🎧from the event! 🎪These guys were not playing around! 🤼 😉

Are you a fan of combat jiu jitsu? Let me know in the comments below!

I think combat jiu jitsu and fast-paced Nogi jiu jitsu is way more exciting to watch. Do you agree?

I love training and rolling in a Gi, but a high-level-Gi match is usually a snooze fest!💤😴

🥋 JIU JITSU ETIQUETTE FOR F*CKING DUMMIES. 😂🥋

Apparently some of this still needs to be said…

• Trim your damn nails 🦅
• Wash your gi 🧼
• Wash yourself
• Brush your teeth 🪥
• Control your ego 🤬
• Don’t try to murder your training partners🔪😵

🤷🏻‍♂️Basically: be hygienically competent and don’t be a
weird-ass.🤡

You’d think after 20+ years of jiu jitsu I wouldn’t still have to worry about somebody slicing 🔪 me open with their toenails or showing up smelling like they live under a NJ bridge.… 🤦🏻‍♂️ but here we are.

🤔What’s the 1️⃣Jiu Jitsu etiquette rule you think people violate the most?

💬 Drop it in the comments. 👇

🔥 COUNT THE RASH GUARDS & WIN! 🔥

Think you are a grappler with a good eye? 👀

There are a TON of rash guards in this video to count… but there’s a catch. 🎣

⚠️ You are ONLY counting EPIC ROLL rash guards.

Some of the rash guards you see aren’t Epic Roll, AND you’ll see some of the same Epic Roll rash guard more than once.

Your mission:

🧐 Figure out how many DIFFERENT / UNIQUE EPIC ROLL rash guards appear in the entire video.

Duplicates only count ONE TIME. Long and short sleeve with the same design also only count as one!

And Yes, the music is to try and make it harder 😆😆

Jiu-Jitsu people are lying about strength!

I know we all want to pretend that technique reigns supreme, but let’s be honest, that’s not entirely true.

It’s about time we call it what it is…. An advantage. 🪜

If two grapplers have relatively the same grappling abilities, the next factor becomes physicality. 💪🏼

Let me know if you agree or if you think I’m missing something! 🤔

🤔How do you feel about slams in Jiu Jitsu?

This video 🎥🎞️ is crazy, and the slam even crazier. 🤯

And as if that wasn’t enough crazy already, the craziest part of it all 😵‍💫😵‍💫

that kid who got slammed kept that guillotine choke locked on and eventually got the SUB…😵🤯 so kudos to him for taking that like a CHAMP! 👑🏆

Me personally, I’m not a fan of slams for safety 🚷reasons🏥⚕️…….but then again, I am almost 46 years old and have been beating up my body with Jiu Jitsu training for 20 years…so these days, it hurts just watching 👀 someone else get slammed 😂

Let me know in the comments what you think about that slam… but regardless of your opinion, those custom gold and black epic roll shorts were 🔥🔥🔥🔥😎😁

Recently met Kirstin Purcell @handshakeinheels , a strong, driven woman who carries herself with real professionalism. Through her I also got to meet Mike McClanahan @realmikemcc , and he even signed a copy of his book for my daughter, a nice touch I didn't expect.

Also grateful for this community: my husband @wil.colato , always in my corner and supporting everything I build.
Gannon Lang @gannon_lang , an amazing and driven person I recently met.
And Geniah, a fantastic woman I met while volunteering with the @gwynethsgift at the Whiskey Business event.

Meeting people like this is exactly why I love building Colato Compass, connecting with people who lead with purpose and lift others along the way.
So proud to call Fredericksburg home. Can't wait for Live2Lead, coming Feb 2027. 🖤

Today we sat down and watch some of the ADCC Wold Championship going on today and tomorrow and we asked questions about what we saw and broke it down.

S/O to friends who let you record and get goofy with you. @gracegerrish

Rashguard- @xmartial

Side note - knee bars scare the fck out of me. I like my knees and I'd like to keep it that way.

And thats a wrap on jiujitsu camp, @rollingontheriverbjj 2026! Yesterday as we wrapped up classes for the weekend @coltonsmithmma highlighted one of the best parts of jiujitsu and what sets this apart from many other sports. No other martial art is know for this type of comradery. You wont find an event where handfuls of affiliations come together like this for mma, or boxing, or anything else. Everyone who came to @rollingontheriverbjj came with the intention of leveling up their knowledge and helping those they shared the mats with do the same. This sport has a community that is really unexplainable unless you experience it. Thanks to all of the athletes, instructors, coaches, and volunteers. We're already looking forward to next year. #soundsidesummer #rollingontheriver #jiujitsuisforeveryone #mountainjiujitsu #jiujitsucamp

Ps!!!!!!! If you've been thinking about doing jiujitsu and are looking for a place where you belong but are also provided space to grow and encouraged to do so, this is your sign 🤙🏽 reach out today to start your journey with us

Rolling on the River day 3 photo dump. Evening classes featuring @livvy_bjj with an awesome spider guard sequence. Then @coltonsmithmma and a brutal collar choke sequence from close guard. Closing with @lucasbarbosajj with a side control to mount and back take sequence. Sweet photo bomb by @jelynwaltz included.

Looking forward to the photos/videos from @___.sparroww.___
