POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

As you all might have known, the 10th International Origami Internet Olympiad has recently concluded, and we pleased with all the achievements our group has garnered.

With that all out of the way, let us all duly recognize our very own designers and folders for this year's IOIO

Designers:
Alphonsus Rouis @alphonsuspapercrafts, for their Penrose Punch; and

Madonna Yoder @gatheringfolds, for her Waffles and Emergent Hexagons

Folders:
Our very own founder, Naoki Terao @naokigami, champion of this year's IOIO, and top folder for numerous tasks being Jelmaya (Kunsulu Jilkishiyeva) , Hat 3D (Andrey Ermakov), The King and the Jester (Dmitry Lysuik), Spider HP (A. Ermakov), Emergent Hexagons (M. Yoder), Bowl of Hygieia (A. Ermakov), Hidden Images (Own Work), and Hippocampus (Pei Haozheng);

Florian Videau @f22217, garnering 1st place for his interpretation of Waffles (Madonna Yoder); and

Goni Kassif @goni.origami, garnering 2nd place for his interpretation of the Hispa Arta (Andrey Ermakov)

The IOIO is by far a walk in the park, and yet here we are, having walked a mile in the shoes of what is considered as competitive origami. There might not be a lot of winners, but there sure was a lot of experiences made from this. Give yourselves a pat on the back, or a tight squeeze, you deserve it after all you have done.

Thank you, and we look forward to seeing what y'all will do in the future for origami

Although it’s been a little while, I was truly honored to be invited to the Ultimate Origami Convention in Lyon, France (Oct 31 – Nov 2, 2025). It was an incredibly valuable and inspiring experience for me.

Everyone I met was so kind and welcoming. Huge thanks to the OORAA team for organizing such a wonderful event, to all the participants, and especially to Nicolas TERRY. Thank you so much!

I hope to see you all again somewhere in the world .

Octopus, designed by Satoshi Kamiya. Folded by me from 50x50 cm painted Octa paper from @nicolasterryorigami Origami-Shop.com
.
I saw @goni.origami recent upload of this model and I had to share mine as well. Check him out!

If you swipe through the photos you’ll find the reason why I’ve been absent for the last what.. almost 2 years? Her name is Alma - my beautiful daughter! She constantly brings us joy and happiness. She doesn’t leave me enough time to fold though (but that’s ok I guess)
