❄️🌊🌸 The OisF’s East Coast Cold Water Challenger: Doug Bard ❄️🌊🌸

In this challenge, we set out to shine a spotlight on our community’s treasured water people, and Doug Bard is one of them! A welcoming presence and a familiar, friendly face in the lineup (especially in the winter) is so sacred to the spirit and culture of our surf community; in and out of the water, Doug has become our unofficial, local ambassador for kindness.

As the front man of @the_wave_tape, Doug uses his platform as a vehicle for goodness. Whether he is volunteering his time, or donating a portion of his @the_wave_tape sales to organizations like @surfershealing , @fulfill_nj , @marysplacebythesea - Doug is an ocean-inspired inventor, a dedicated family man, a consistent surfer and a relentless giver. As we enter into the home stretch of “The OisF’s East Coast Cold Water Challenge,” we would like to acknowledge, celebrate and thank people like @thegooddaysurfer/ #thetapedude for all the ways you represent what it means to #bearipple. 🤙🏽🌊🌸❄️

Support @the_wave_tape on his journey to secure The OisF’s East Coast Cold Water Challenge by sending a VENMO donation to @TheOisF. (link in bio)

Please be sure to add GLIDERS and TAPE DUDE to the memo section.

❄️ 🌊 🌸 100% of the proceeds from
“The OisF’s East Coast Cold Water Challenge” will support the year-round expansion of our surf therapy program and help us purchase winter surf gear The OisF Gliders - Women’s Surf Collective! 🌸 🌊 ❄️

❄️🤙🏽🌊🌸 Shop Local ❄️🤙🏽🌊🌸

Our surf shops and small businesses are the living, breathing heartbeat of our beach town and the curators of culture in our local community.
❄️🤙🏽🌊🌸

Day in and day out- they give so much.

Some see store fronts, but we see institutions; we see this beautiful network of family-owned businesses as reflections and extensions of our local identity. We see the people, the stories, the dreams and all the ways they genuinely and generously return their love back to our community.

On behalf of The OisF Gliders - Women’s Surf Collective and our entire team at @theoisf- we simply want to say, THANK YOU!

We are so proud and grateful to acknowledge the local businesses and surf shops that wholeheartedly hopped in to support “The OisF’s East Cold Water Challenge.”

Thank you @minnowscafe , @epicshirts , @bravesurf and @barewiressurf for partnering with @theoisf and donating prizes for our challenge winners. Your support is so appreciated and such a beautiful reminder of what this community is all about!

THANK YOU for your willingness to #getonboard and #bearipple!

Once upon a time, in a world full of shitty packing tape…

there lived a man, a man with a minor inconvenience that quietly plagued his heart. “Why must clear packing tape betray me so?” the man admitted. “This regular packaging tape is so…shitty. May the powers that be, bring forth a tape, that is, in fact, less shitty. A tape where one can fasten parcels with delight and a tape whose end can be located with ease. A tape bound to guard the hearts and minds of men so their spirits will not be struck down henceforth!”

And so it was done, the man and his father created such a tape that mirrored one he had imagined. Peace was restored in the hearts of people throughout the land and the man lived out his days and was later, unofficially, known as, The Tape Dude.
