Is circularity in fashion still a bit "alphabet soup" for both industry and consumers? (rewear, recycle, rental, repair, repurpose - so many RRR's!)
Honoured to have sat alongside other industry leading voices including... @libertylondon @theofficialpandora @paulsmithdesign @cosstores @newlook @reformation @recomm @tgrafton1 @sarah_coonan among many others.

Oh and what else to wear for a talk on circular style than my beloved 🤓 👓 @monceyewear “FrankenFrames” - these were two disused, end of life pairs fused together, as a brand R&D experiment; they reminded me of early Margiela. And now they are on my face and I even hate to take them off at bed time. Bravo Freddie the founder (this is not paid/partner content!). He is helping to solve the problem of saving the 1.5 billion (yes, billion) wasted frames a year that go to landfill or other waste streams. Which is literally so insane.

With enormous thanks to the brilliant @lauretta_roberts & @antonyhawman from @theindustryfashion

GIVE YOUR BEST ✨️

The other week I was kindly asked to partake in quite frankly, a bl**dy fantastic panel at the NEW @giveyourbest.uk bricks & mortar store in Islington Square, London.

Hosted by THE hostess with the mostest @biancaffoley , and consisting of myself, Dr Dion Terrelonge @thefashionpsychologist_ , Mary Fellowes, founder @greenwith_studios , and most importantly, Give Your Best support recipient, spokesperson and board member Basma Kamel to share her story.

The panel, discussing how the Circular Economy, in particular Rental, Swapping, Sharing and MINDFULLY donating, can be an integral part of the solution for a lower impact, positive social and environmental impact fashion industry was equally challenging and thought provoking.

Challenging because we know there are barriers to wide-spread adoption, not least the fact that we have cultivated a culture where "ownership" of stuff is celebrated over just accessing through rental and borrowing when needed.

Thought provoking because we know there are so many solutions to slow down the fashion industry already in existence, but we need to talk about it more within our circles of influence, and swiftly follow it up with action.

Action like mindfully donating your good quality, no longer used items to incredible organisations like GYB on a mission to take down clothing poverty, empowering asylum seeker, refugee women and children to shop with dignity for clothing that befits their lifestyle and their personality. To hear Basma's story, and the positive impact GYB has had on her life shows how crucial it is that we look beyond our individual wants and needs, to be a contribution part of a wider community where our actions might seem small, but they make a huge difference to someone else's quality of life.

Big thankyou to @sol.esco.bar and the wider GYB team for thinking to invite me.

And if you have unworn items that you believe could make a difference to someone else and would like to donate, hop on over to the Give Your Best page or website for more details.

SHARING IS CARING after all 💯

Taking it back to last week at the launch for the brand new @giveyourbest.shop for a conversation about The Sharing Economy Revolution and Why Collective Wardrobes Are the Future of Fashion…

I rarely get photos of me presenting or moderating but it had to be my faves at @giveyourbest.uk who captured the night so perfectly. @oihanemolinero
