Fair warning: Incoming long, sappy mama post. 🥹❤️

She’s been at all 3 of my bodybuilding shows each year since she was just a toddler. Watching me train, watching me push myself, watching me do things that are hard. And while I hope she’s proud of her mama, what I hope even more is that she’s learning something far bigger than anything I could ever accomplish on a stage. ❤️

The day before my show, my mom took her on a hike. At one point, she wanted to climb up on a big rock with her older brothers, but her Mimi told her she couldn’t because it was too hard.

Without missing a beat, she responded, “Mimi, I can do hard things, you know?”

And when her dad told me that story, my heart could have burst.

Because THAT. That right there is what I’ve been trying to instill in her since she was born.

That she is strong. That she is capable. That hard doesn’t mean impossible. That she doesn’t have to shy away from something just because it challenges her. And that she is so much stronger than she even realizes.

Bodybuilding may look like it’s about building muscles, but for me, it’s about so much more. It’s about showing my daughter what it looks like to work hard for something, to keep showing up when things get uncomfortable, and to believe in yourself even when something feels out of reach.

But I think the part that makes me the most emotional is knowing that her strength doesn’t have to be born out of the hard things life puts her through. It can be born out of love. Out of encouragement. Out of growing up surrounded by people who remind her of what she’s capable of before she ever has a reason to doubt it.

I don’t want her to have to become strong because life forced her to be. I want her to grow up knowing she’s strong because she’s been told, shown, and reminded of it her entire life.

And if all these years of watching her mama chase big goals have taught her even a little bit of that, then I’ve already won something far greater than any trophy or crown I’ll ever bring home. 🥹💖 I love you so much baby girl. This one is for you!✨

37 🥹🎂✨

A little older, a lot stronger, and more grateful for this life than ever. Thank you Lord, for blessing me with a beautiful family, amazing friends, and a healthy body that can keep up with it all. 🤍

And because simply blowing out candles felt a little too boring… 😂💪🏼

Cheers to 37!

Showing this man some love because being in prep wouldn’t be possible without a supportive husband, and for that I am blessed. 🫶

🥟 Flashback Friday Pics (2018 - 2019 >> Tag Yo Peeps) 🥟

Before ‘drome in Seaside, there was Dumps Like A Truck (est 2017) and The Irritable Bao (est 2018) in Auburn, AL. Check out these throwback pics of our Dumpsters and BAOlievers who paved the way for us to be where we are today! From slinging dumplings out of the back of our trunk, to begging our customers to get out of line and into our kitchen to help us keep up, the early days were a wild ride! These photos are a celebration of God’s faithfulness and goodness to our family on this journey, and a symbol of gratitude for everyone who has played a part in where we are today. DLAT, The Irritable Bao, nor ‘drome would exist without the amazing support of our patrons. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for your love and support (and patience) along the way.

And thank you for being a part of the Bao Movement! Your support has helped us, through strategic partnerships with international and local organizations, provide care year after year for children and families in extreme poverty overseas, as well as single mothers and families in the Lee County area in need of some extra love. For more info on what we do with our non-profit work and how you have empowered us to empower others, give us a holler!

In the meantime, enjoy these photos and tag your people!
