I said I would send notes from the Weird & Magical Weekend with Harmony Slater, but I never did!

@meghanmarshallmysore had the fabulous idea to hire Alex for shiny new shala photos again. We’re all smiles.

Philosophy Hour: Unraveling the Practice
A special event with Harmony Slater & Bibi Lorenzetti

Once a month, we set aside the regular rhythm of class and gather for something slower: an hour of philosophy where practice and study meet.

This month we're joined by Harmony Slater for a special conversation on Tristhana, one of the first teachings we're given in Ashtanga, and one that keeps opening up the longer you practice. Posture, breath and drishti. Body, breath and focus.

We learn them on the mat as technique: finding the bandhas, keeping the breath steady, resting the gaze where it's meant to go. Over time they start shaping how we move through the rest of our lives too.

This isn't a workshop rushing to cover ground. It's a conversation held in community, and newer students are so welcome.

📅 Saturday, October 31
🕛 12–1pm
📍 In person at the Shala & via livestream

Come with questions. Come with a practice that's ready to go deeper.

About last week...

I took the last week to be ✨️in✨️the✨️ENERGY!✨️

The energy of saying YES to myself and my business.

The energy of playing just as hard as I worked.

The energy of showing up and leaning in when I wanted to hide and stay quiet.

The energy of CELEBRATING the wins. My wins and the wins of the women around me.

The energy of DECIDING what I want my business to look like and how it is going to support my and my family's life.

The energy of YES, and...

...and magic happened.

...and life changing connections were made.

...and I let myself dream bigger than ever before!

...and I found true belonging in a place where I wasn't certain I would.

Before I landed, I wasn't sure if I was in the right room, or with the right crowd. Not because of anyone else - because of me.

I didn't know if I was ready.

Here is what I want to double click on from my experience in The DEFY Retreat with @bunnyyoung

BELONGING comes from within. If you don't have belonging within yourself, you'll never truly experience it in a group, no matter how supportive that group is.

If you don't do the inner work of building self-trust and safety within you, you'll be limited in how much you are able to expand your zone of comfort.

I'm proud of the work I have done and continue to do to be able to grow and expand the possibilities of my reality.

I practice what I preach and practice what I teach; and my clients get the benefit of learning from a coach who will never ask them to do what she is not willing to do herself.

I have SO much more to share. Follow along and let's keep growing together!

Day 42/100 of Self-Love
Finding My Unicorns 🦄🤍

Women who just get you.
Love you as you are.
And dream big with you.

Words can’t even express how much love I have for these women and how loved I feel by them. 🤍

There’s something so special about being surrounded by women who just get you. You don’t have to explain every little thing. You can show up exactly as you are and feel understood, supported, and celebrated.

One week of business planning, big dreams, kitchen conversations, face masks, getting muddy, and laughing together. Growing our businesses while building friendships that mean so much to me.

Bunny, thank you for bringing us together. And to all DEFY women/unicorns 🦄 thank you for your wisdom, your realness, and the way we love and cheer each other on.

This is part of the life I’m building, too. Connection. Friendship. Joy. And so much love.

We really are unicorns. I love you all so much. 🥹🤍

Live fully. Love deeply. ✨

Sometimes we forget that we still live in a world where there are real disparities between the sexes.

That’s only a small part of what we touch on this week!

Listen to the Finding Harmony Podcast with Allison Lorne @spiritualsomatics and have your mind blown. 🤯

Our last retreat day we had a surprise spa field trip. The mud bath was amazing! I did a cold plunge for the first time.🥶

October is filled with moments where I am…”On the road again”… so today’s thoughts from the road is a reminder to myself and to YOU to GO SERVE BIG!! This is what I say to my husband every day as he walks out the door to do his work… which is sales, it’s never about to go make a lot of money or go sell a lot… our focus is always on serving big and how we can serve others fulfill our purpose with passion. Because we believe that when you live a life that’s aligned to your purpose and your passion and your values, by serving and filling the calling that’s on your life - you will always get what you need and often times get what you want. So today’s thoughts from the road video is to remind you to GO SERVE BIG and appreciate the ones who are doing the same around you… like my unicorn sisters 🦄 at this DEFY retreat with @thebunnyyoung !! #Defy #Unicorns #goservebig #rockmovers #confidencecoach

That was one of my favorite parts of my conversation with @harmonyslaterofficial on the Finding Harmony Podcast.

So many of us were taught that healing means going back, reliving it, and explaining it again. But sometimes revisiting the story pulls you right back into the pain.

Your body offers another way in. Sensation is the language of your nervous system.

So instead of asking “what happened?”, try asking “what am I feeling right now?”

A tingling?
A tightness in your chest?
A catch in your throat?
A pit in your stomach?

When you learn to stay with those sensations in small, tolerable doses, your threat response can soften on its own. The body finishes what it started, and you don’t have to go back through it all to get there.
