We live in a society where touch is weaponized.
.
As a bodyworker who has endured unhealthy touch, it’s been my life’s work to provide a therapeutic and safe environment to each and every individual that walks into my space.
.
I have little words for what’s been transpiring in the news. I’m filled with rage that we continue to see story after story of someone being victimized by touch.
.
I just want everyone to know who is reading this, you are safe here. Consent is everything and in my orbit, your seen, valued and protected.

Shared grief 🫂
.
As a friend in grief and someone who has made it my goal to be as open and honest about my experience with loss as possible, I find myself wanting that for everyone.
.
I’ve always been someone who has felt for others. Their joys, sorrows, wins and losses. I find myself feeling a bit more these days, especially others’ losses.
.
I know the isolating feeling of going through a significant death. Although there are others who have experienced similar pain, there is an unexplainable feeling that isolates you.
.
When I see someone share about loss, especially the loss of a parent, I feel it deeper than before. Even 2+ years after my mother’s death, I somehow have a deeper connection to those experiencing loss.
.
My hope with this outlet is to not only have a place to share my experience walking in grief, but to also walk with and hold others in theirs.

My mom died.

So much changed.

My work did as well.

This has been swimming around in my head for a while. How the loss of my mother and the process of grieving her has made me a better person. I am lucky to have a support system that understands that my unconventional openness in sharing my grief has allowed me to thrive, rather than sink into the darkness of suppressing grief’s lessons.

@billystrings releasing his new album, So Much For Goodbyes and featuring this song, Still I Crash really inspired me. We have to keep telling our stories, being inspired by our work and sharing who we currently are. Grief is tricky, messy, beautiful and an honor. To grieve is to love. To love is an honor.

Bodywork is art

Massage is my medium.

Tissue and fascia are the canvas.

Technique starts the session, inspiration shapes it.

There’s no script,
no choreography,
just creative flow.

Bodywork is art.

Both practitioner and client sharing title of artist.
