We asked @officialgayhendricks how he feels about what’s happening right now in the US with women’s rights.

“I think it’s a good example of what in The Big Leap I call the upper limit problem. Women had this big time of expansion in the 1970s and 80s, and then all of a sudden Ronald Reagan comes in, they start bad-mouthing abortion, and start making abortion a political issue, and start shaming women for all of that. And so it was a gigantic upper limit on that expansion. And then I think women kind of fought through that, and now this is another wave of that fascist contraction against truth, feeling, beauty, all of the things that fascists hate.”

Gay identifies as a radical feminist and this episode unpacks his childhood and why he believes that not all men are free, until women are free.

Episode drops this Friday on @amanisntaplan 🎙️ as part of our Good Men Series.

Before I had my first tabling event this past weekend I was feeling a lot of fear!

And it wasn’t necessarily rational in my brain - this was an event I was excited about, I wanted to do this.

I’ve had booths plenty of times for the nonprofits I used to work with.

This would be the first booth for my own business, but I know my stuff and I love connecting with people about coaching & body intelligence.

Yet, the day before I found myself in a series of fear responses. My most familiar fear response is ‘faint’.

I shut down, I feel helpless, exhausted, completely overwhelmed.

Further reflecting - I realize I may have spent the whole week in the “flee” fear response. Because every day leading up to this event I said “I’m going to prepare...tomorrow.”

So why does this matter?

Why is it important to first recognize our body is in a fear response, and second to BEFRIEND the fear and move it through our bodies?

Let's talk about it - Join @isamongalo & I on Sept 9th for a virtual workshop on befriending fear. The 2nd Dreamaker Dialogue Series!

Wed Sept 9th, 4pm pacific/ 7pm eastern
