POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Hi, I'm Tara. 💕

The woman behind The EmpowHer Method and HighHER Energy.

I'm 36, a mother, carer, advocate and hopeful entrepreneur, figuring out how to build a life and business that I'm proud of.

I've spent almost 20 years in the wellbeing industry, working as a massage therapist, baby and infant massage practitioner, and SEN massage practitioner.

I'm also a life coach by experience, passionate about manifestation, fitness, nutrition and understanding what it means to truly look after yourself.

But this isn't about collecting titles.

It's about everything I've lived through, everything I'm still learning, and how those experiences have shaped the woman I am becoming.

EmpowHer Method is about experience-led healing.

It's about learning to regulate your emotions, understanding yourself more deeply, reclaiming your energy, building your strength, raising your standards and creating a life that feels intentional.

HighHER Energy is about remembering that your energy is your power.

I'm still studying, learning, growing and figuring out exactly how all of this will come together. I'm not here pretending to have it all worked out.

I'm building this as I go.

And that's what I want to share with you.

The real story. The lessons. The setbacks. The little wins. The healing. The fitness journey. The business ideas. The messy middle of becoming the woman I know I'm capable of being.

I want to build something meaningful for my boy and myself, and hopefully create a space where other women feel inspired to do the same in their own way.

So, if you've made it this far, thank you for giving me your precious time. 🥹💕

If any of this resonates with you, I'd love for you to follow along.

Follow @the_empowher_method

Come and grow with me. This is only the beginning.

Ps I'm also a highly experienced massage therapist - I offer my services to everyone, women, men and children. ✨

Lots of love,

Tara x

What are you training for? 🧑‍🦽💙

As an able bodied person I truly believe it's crucial for Kiki to see his mummy never take her body for granted.

I owe it to him to be as strong in my body (and mind) as I possibly can be.

You become what you surround yourself with.

I hope Kiki sees my strength and knows he can achieve anything too. 💪✨

The truth is

I’m not perfect at the whole disabled parent thing.

Some days I’m full of energy and ready for physio, and other days I’m completely switched off. I do what I can, and that has to be enough.

Equipment still triggers me sometimes. I dislike his stander, and I don’t use it as much as I probably should. I just want him to feel like a normal little boy, to play and enjoy his toys without limits.

The truth is, becoming a “physio mum” as well as a “mum” hasn’t been easy. But it doesn’t make me special or inspirational. You would do the same if it was your baby.

For most of Zaki’s life, I was in a functional freeze, just surviving. Only in the last year 2.5 years have I truly become the woman I’m proud of today.

From his SMA diagnosis, being told he wouldn’t make it past two, starting to raise £2 million for treatment before the NHS stepped in, and then rebuilding myself after my marriage broke down, somehow we made it through.

I look at him in awe. He gives me strength every single day to heal deeper, love harder, and live with gratitude.

He was sent to me for this. A journey of self-love, growth, and purpose. 🤍

I know this is my business page, but I also want to be as real and authentic as possible in my pursuit of becoming the best therapist I can be for you, whether that’s through treatments, coaching, or simply sharing life as it is. They say the best people to go to are the ones who’ve lived it themselves. So here I am, showing my truth. 🤍

Disclaimer: This clip is from 2023 , it’s incredible to see how far Kiki and I have come since then. He now stands unaided at a desk or holding hands for minutes at a time, and I’ve grown into a much stronger, more grounded version of myself. Back then, I was struggling, neglecting self-care, battling poor mental health, and living in constant fight-or-flight. I’m so proud of how far we’ve both come. 🙏

Now I'm here to help you.

I wish more people knew this

Some days it’s not your life that’s heavy..
it’s the way you’re speaking to yourself through it.

Same day. Same responsibilities. Same circumstances.

Just.. a different perspective. ✨

Your brain has a negative bias..
it’s wired to spot problems.
Gratitude is how you gently train it to see the good too.

Studies show the more you practice gratitude,
the more your brain starts scanning for positives automatically.

So maybe it’s not your life that needs changing..

maybe it’s what you’re trained to notice. 🤍

Gratitude literally changes your brain chemistry..

I hope this message finds you. 🤍

Much love,
Tara | @the_empowher_method 🌷

The truth is.. He saved mine 👩‍❤️‍👨

"Zakariya might not make it to 2 years old"..

And now look at him go. Smiling. Thriving. Living.

He is my strength, my purpose, my reminder that miracles exist, sometimes the quiet, everyday moments like this are the ones you cherish forever, because there was a time I didn't even know if he would live.

I thank modern medicine and his unwavering resilience and strength every day.

Always with a smile. 🥹

Dear Mama..
A Letter from one mother to another 🩷

I don’t know where you’re sitting right now, in a waiting room, on the edge of a hospital bed, or curled up on the floor, but I want you to know...

I see you. I feel you. I am you.

Maybe you’ve just heard words that broke your heart wide open. A diagnosis you didn’t see coming. A future that suddenly feels full of fear. Maybe you're in the middle of it all, physio sessions, appointments, paper work, questions no one has answers for.

I know you are absolutely exhausted in a way you can't explain, holding it all together with a smile. I know that pain. The one that lives in your heart. I know what it feels like to grieve a life you thought you’d have, while learning to love the one you've been given. I know the sadness, the guilt, the hope, the way your baby's smile can heal you and break you in the same moment.

But I want you to hear this, from one tired, determined, loving mama to another..

You are not alone.
You are not failing.
And your love is doing more than you’ll ever know.

Some days, survival is all you have.
Some days, just getting through is a win.
Some days, your softness is your strength.

You don’t need to be superhuman.
You already are.

Not because you do everything, but because you keep showing up for them.

Your child sees you, in the way you never stop fighting for them. And one day, when they’re able to show it, trust me they will say to you..

She gave me everything she could.

You are doing the most important work in the world. And you’re doing it with a power most people could never ever imagine or begin to understand.

It's about believing, somehow that you're both exactly where you need to be.

With love,

Tara (& Kiki) 🤍

From the heart.

She was a lost soul, yet always remained positive. She was conditioned to feel, be, and act in a certain way, all of her life. Her upbringing, parents, friends, school, college, and university they all shaped her.
Society made her feel she couldn't love herself all because loving one's self is (was) seen as self-righteous, selfish, and an act of being full of yourself. She followed the crowd and listened to society and its expectations of her. Not yet realising that life is so much more.

It was the darkest, most soul destroying moments of her life that awoke her. She does not belong nor fit into the above bracket anymore. Her life, goals, and expectations all flipped. Society no longer cares for her, so why should she care for it?

Grief, guilt, sadness - trauma all eat away at her. No one really cares. Life moves on, and that's life. it's inevitable. Everyone has issues, life changes, and priorities change. Now it's about creating new beginnings, nothing, no one will hold her back this time.

An angel entered her life and filled it with reasons, to do better, be better.

For me, it was the moment I realised I had done everything I possibly could.

It was the moment I understood that staying was costing me too much of myself. It was the moment I realised that I was shrinking parts of myself just to keep something alive that wasn’t meant to be.

I've spent a lot of my life fighting fighting for love, for stable ground, for my child, for answers when no one believed me or stood by me.

I'm not someone who gives up easily. I give far too much.

But there comes a moment when holding on stops feeling like strength, and it starts becoming self-abandonment.

I had an epiphany during my talk therapy. I told my therapist how I understand that I have abandonment issues from losing my real dad, and then my stepdad, when I was a young girl.

And with that, I somehow developed an anxious attachment and sought after avoidant men who, in an odd way, probably reminded me of a “father figure” I never fully had. And so I married into this, with many wounds and many inner voids. Which he filled, or at least I felt they were.

As time passed and my child was born, and through all the madness that was, I grew. I matured. My priorities changed. My mindset shifted. I became stronger, an advocate for my child, and slowly I realised (in therapy) I no longer needed him to fill my voids, as I was filling them for me, for myself.

I was becoming whole and secure in myself, that I no longer needed to beg to be loved. I just simply needed to love myself.

From that moment, I promised myself, after everything life has already asked of me, that I would never abandon myself again.

Walking away doesn’t mean you didn’t care.
It doesn’t mean you didn’t try.

It just means you finally chose peace. ✨

If you can relate, let me know in the comments.. 🤍

Much love,

Tara @the_empowher_method 💕
