POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

PART ONE OF TWO: Today I’m going to talk about the writing in the book! (In two separate posts because you can only tag 20 people per post.) New Jersey Fan Club contains writing from a wide range of both seasoned writers with books of their own and others who, I’m proud to say, are being published for the first time in this collection. The bulk of the essays are personal essays, and they use NJ as a way of discussing other subjects and they cover topics including The Sopranos, finding comfort at the mall, favorite delis, immigration, moving to different parts of the state, jitney buses, moving back to NJ from elsewhere, exploring abandoned places, favorite hockey players, bagels, the turnpike, Jersey Shore (the show and the place!), and so much more. I’m going to be thinking about these essays for a long time and I think you will too.

.
.
The Judiciary Act of 1789 is passed by Congress and signed by President George Washington , establishing the Supreme Court of America , as a tribunal made up of six justices who were to serve on the court untill death or retirement. President nominated "John Ray" to preside as chief justice , and John Ruttedge , William Cushing , John Blair , Robert Harrison , and James Wilson to be associate appointments were confirmed by U.S. Senate.
.
The U.S. Supreme Court was established by Article 3 of the U.S. Constitution. The constitution granted the Supreme Court ultimate jurisdiction over all laws , especially those in which their constitutionality was at issue. On February 1 , 1790 , the first session of the court was held in New York City's Royal Exchange Building.
.
The U.S. Supreme Court grew into the most important judicial body in the world in terms of its central place in the American political orders. Court's first docketed case was Van Staphost V. Maryland (1791) and its first recorded decision was West V. Barnes (1791).
