After a successful event a year ago, we are once again inviting families to celebrate #Halloween with a fun-filled trick-or-treating adventure on #HNLSkyline!

Saturday, October 31 (Halloween) from 10am to 12pm.

This year, families can hop on Skyline in their favorite Halloween costumes and visit 5 participating stations along the line to collect treats, enjoy festive activities, dance to live music, enter to win prizes, and make some spooky memories along the way!

The following five Skyline stations:

Kualakaʻi East Kapolei
Honouliuli Hoʻopili
Hōʻaeʻae West Loch
Hālawa Aloha Stadium
Kahauiki Kalihi Transit Center

will take part in this year’s Halloween celebration, giving families a chance to explore Oʻahu by Skyline while enjoying treats and activities at each stop.

And for those looking for an extra challenge, keiki can participate in our Skyline Halloween Stamp Card! Collect a stamp at each of the five participating stations, then bring your completed card to Hālawa Aloha Stadium for a CHANCE to win some prizes!

Cards can be downloaded at www.honolulu.gov/skyline, printed and brought to the event, or can be picked up at each of the participating Skyline stations. Participants can keep the card once complete!

Additionally, there will be an online costume contest as part of the festivities! All ages are welcome to enter the contest to win a grand prize! Participants can post an Instagram photo of their costume on Skyline enjoying the event and tag @HNL.Transit with the hashtag #SkylineCostume2026 to enter!

So grab your costume, bring your HOLO Card and get ready to ride Skyline this Halloween!

Can you all believe it's been one year!?

We're proud to mark one year of operations for Skyline Segment 2, a major milestone year marked by significant accomplishments for the nation’s first fully automated, elevated rail transit system.

One year ago on October 16, 2025, Skyline Segment 2 opened its doors for passengers, adding four new stations and five additional miles of service. The expansion strengthened connections to major employment centers and destinations, including Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam, Daniel K. Inouye International Airport, Māpunapuna, and the Kalihi Transit Center at Middle Street. Since then, the system has provided over 6 million rides through its 13 stations, connecting East Kapolei and Kalihi while improving access to jobs, schools, businesses, and key destinations across the island.

Following the opening of Segment 2, support for Skyline has grown tremendously, along with ridership, now averaging nearly 13,500 weekday rides and maintaining more than 99% in service reliability.

Additionally, Skyline recorded its highest ridership to date on both a weekday and a weekend in recent months. Weekday ridership reached a record 14,143 rides on August 26, while weekend ridership peaked at 14,192 rides on September 12 during Megabon.

Skyline’s achievements have also earned national recognition, with the system receiving the 2026 American Public Transportation Association (APTA) Innovation Award. The award recognizes Skyline’s innovative use of technology to deliver safe, reliable, and efficient public transportation.

The success of Skyline has been driven by growing ridership, expanded service, and consistently reliable operations. As the system continues to grow, it will provide even greater mobility while supporting housing, economic development, and a more sustainable future for O‘ahu.
