When the call came for us to move to Colorado so Bobby could play for the Broncos, this was the very first trail we hiked as a family—before Gaia was even born. At the time, we’d only purchased our home as a vacation getaway. But life has a beautiful way of changing your plans. What began as a retreat slowly became the place where we put down roots, renovating it into the family ranch we love today. This trail begins just beyond our land, and every time I walk it, I’m reminded of how much can change from one brave “yes.” I thought I’d share it with you. It’s one of the most beautiful hikes in the area, with sweeping views of Pikes Peak (Tava Mountain) and meadows overflowing with wildflowers this time of year. #HouseofEase #AngelMassie #PikesPeak #ColoradoHiking

Yesterday we filmed one of my favorite episodes of House of Ease yet! In this chapter, I’m sharing the traditions that shaped me — from growing up a coastal kid in Baltimore and the rhythms of life on the Chesapeake, to the art of table setting and creating beautiful gatherings. Bobby and I also visit our local ranch for a conversation about legacy, stewardship, and the stories we leave behind. I can’t wait to share it with you. Catch it June 16th on @homeworthy! #HouseofEase #AngelMassie #BobbyMassie #HomeandGarden #DIY

One of my earliest memories of my Grandma Eula is hearing her talk to her friends about the good days of foraging ramps in the damp forests of South Carolina. I remember drinking a spicy tea of boiled ginger, milkweed and honey when I was not feeling well. Lavender and chamomile sachets in my bath before bed. I didn’t know at the time that this was herbalism. Grandma Eula and my mother Marlene passed down this felt knowledge of plants and their uses to my sister and I. It’s literally in our bones, and many people in the Black American ethnicity. Looking forward to sharing my knowledge, and continuing to be a student of the tradition as time goes on. What knowledge of plants were you passed down without knowing? Photo: @mercedeslenzphotography #HouseofEase #AngelMassie #Herbalism
