2016 me always imagined having a couple of kids by my mid 30s.

But life decided differently.

Instead, I get to make the most of other blessings I’ve been given. I get to enjoy my time. Travel. Have deep conversations with my best friend/husband. Explore new hobbies. Make a home I love. And spoil the heck out of my dogs.

It would take 2016 me a minute to believe 2026 me, but after a decade of growing, grieving, and a whole lot of self-reflection, I think she’d eventually understand…

Sometimes the life you didn’t plan for can still be a beautiful one.

Motherhood is my favorite place to be. It is hard, it is tiring, yet it is beautifully rewarding. What a grace it is to spend my days as a full-time mommy to my sweet girl, and holding the honor of being a tiny somebody’s everything. 💖

Kyle holds many titles (husband, dad, son, Deputy Chief Information Officer, Treasurer, and more). And soon he will hold the title of Santa Barbara County Auditor‑Controller 🥳, but the title that will always matter most and the one he will continue giving 💯% to is “Papa” 🤍🙌🏽

Kyle, thank you for giving our little girl the kind of love she’ll carry forever. We love you!! Happy Father’s Day!
