Dear friends, I’ve been so busy, I haven’t had time to respond to your messages and comments… but I’ve read them all and really appreciate how encouraging you all have been of my time here.
A week from now, I’ll be the version of myself that lives a small life in the countryside, driving my kids to and from school and soccer practice every day. I’ll be doing laundry for 5 people and tidying up after the four guys I live with, and preparing snacks, and fighting the kids on eating their dinners. But for now I’m this girl, in Paris, living something that feels like a dream.
I wake up alone every morning and have a full schedule: meetings, brand presentations, shows, and cocktail parties. The fact that someone has organized these things for me as part of my job still feels really abstract. My meetings are really lovely, informal hangs with the heads of marketing and PR departments for brands I have spent years coveting. Couriers have arrived to my hotel to drop off garments for me to wear to shows and presentations and then photographers take pictures of me in the street (?!?) which are then published online.
And maybe I’m supposed to play it cool, but it would be disingenuous of me to act like any of this is normal. And sure, maybe it’s a little over the top but at the root of it, I’m here hoping to bring something positive to the table.

And it’s not to say I haven’t worked hard to get here but you guys… I could not have imagined this, not in a million years. I’m so grateful to the people around me who have made it possible for me to do all of this, and for the ones in the industry who are opening doors for me. And I also wouldn’t be here if each and every one of you weren’t cheering me on during this wild time in my life. So thank you guys for supporting my journey, it feels all the more special with you here ❤️

After 18 months of studying ancient forms and techniques and pouring myself into this craft, I’m incredibly excited to introduce my brand, Altra Vita.

AV is a meditation on humanity’s past and an exercise in grounding in the present - aimed to revive textures and styles lost to time, creating something that feels both ancient and modern.

Opera Prima collection launching Fall 2026. Handmade in Barcelona and made to order in sterling silver, gold-plated bronze, and solid gold.

Jewelry with soul, for people with soul.

Each piece in the collection was inspired by a moment in history, ranging 100 BC - 1850 AD.

My favorite part, hand-carving

I’ve found a lot of inspiration from vintage jewelry in this process, sharing techniques used before the invention of CAD design.

Lost wax casting is 6000 years old. Not much has changed in that time

Forever grateful for everyone who’s taken part in bringing this concept to life

Old world techniques meet modern tools

Uffizi, Florence

My first space, before getting a jeweler’s desk. Where AV was born.

Endless hours in the studio. Nowhere I’d rather be

Crying because I never imagined I’d get to be every version of myself, especially not after becoming a mom.
I feel like with age and especially with motherhood, society expects us to dim ourselves, to make ourselves smaller in order to become “respectable women”.
Last week I went to Paris fashion week, I also went and shot a mini documentary — both are things I have never done before.
I spent a week with women who are vibrant and inspiring, we talked about so many things, we laughed and cried together. But also, the same theme kept coming up: how often we’re told what we should be, how we should act, or what’s expected of us— expectations that we all know wouldn’t exist if we were men.
Which is all the more reason to keep showing up—in person and online. It’s a privilege to be surrounded by such strong and inspiring women, and a joy to share these moments with you all. Sharing a substack post later today about my experience in Paris ❤️

Did you guys think we wouldn’t give you the backstory on our last reel? We had planned to meet at a museum initially to to get to know each other and break the ice but after a couple of video calls and a lot of back and forth, we both realized we could just cut to the chase and make something together. We live a few hours apart from each other and both have busy schedules with our family life and work, so we figured it would be best to move directly to business.

We planned outfits over WhatsApp chats, checked the weather forecast, organized a Basecamp at the @ardenuy_press showroom so we could change outfits not in our cars, made sure @isabellthrun would be available to help us with the camera work, and put the date in our calendars. Miraculously, no one fell ill (not even our kids) and we were able to make this day happen.

We sort of knew it would be like this but immediately it felt like we’d known each other for years. We only had a few hours to get it done but it felt easy and natural and mostly we just had so much fun. Let this serve as a reminder that you can just… do things, if you have an idea for something, put a date in the calendar and work your way up to it… you never know what magic might come from it.
