What if the enemy has been tempting you with something God already gave you?

When Satan tempted Eve in the garden, he told her that eating the fruit would make her like God. But here’s what’s so interesting to me: she was already created in His image and likeness! (Genesis 1:26)

And I wonder how often we find ourselves doing the same thing. Striving for identity, significance, and authority without fully recognizing who God created us to be.

Jesus didn’t just come to give us a better life. He came proclaiming the Kingdom of God, inviting us into a restored relationship with our Creator and a new way of living under His reign.

You cannot fully understand who you are until you begin to understand whose you are and the Kingdom you belong to.

There’s so much more to discover about our identity in Christ, and I believe it’s time we begin living with a greater revelation of what God has made available to us!

💬 Comment DEEPER and we’ll send you more from @theheadlees — This is from Walk it out Wednesday at @tphdallas a few weeks ago.

Not everyone needs to be removed from your life. Sometimes, you just need to change their proximity.

One of the things we’ve learned about navigating relationships is that you can genuinely love someone and still recognize that the level of access they have to your life is no longer healthy.

And that doesn’t always mean the relationship is over. People grow. People mature. And sometimes, with time and healing, there’s room for restoration.

But there are also relationships we have to be willing to release, trusting that God knows what belongs in our lives and what doesn’t.

Sometimes we’re so afraid of losing what we’ve known that we leave no room for God to show us what’s possible beyond it.

You don’t have to force what God is asking you to surrender. And you don’t have to convince yourself that what you’ve lost is the best life will ever have to offer.

There’s so much freedom in learning to trust God with the people, the timing, and the outcome. ❤️

We’re talking about boundaries, friendships, letting go, and navigating the complexities of relationships on The Middle with the Headlees.

What if some of the conflict you’re experiencing isn’t meant to destroy you, but to confront the version of yourself you’ve become comfortable being?

I’ve come to realize that we cannot have an authentic relationship with God without allowing Him to confront the things in us that don’t align with who He created us to be.

Sometimes what we perceive as disruption is actually an invitation to transformation.

Because God loves us far too much to leave us living beneath what He created us to become.

And if we’re going to grow in our relationships with others, we have to become willing to experience the discomfort that comes with growth in our relationship with Him.

We’re unpacking the importance of conflict, confrontation, and healthy relationships on The Middle with the Headlees.

Please don’t allow the pressure to get married to push you into a relationship God may be asking you to release.

Sometimes our desire for something can become so strong that we start overlooking the very things we once prayed God would give us discernment to recognize.

And just because someone checks all the boxes doesn’t necessarily mean they’re God’s best for your life.

The real question is, are you willing to surrender what you want if God reveals that it’s not what He has for you?

Marriage is a beautiful gift, but it’s far too significant a decision to make from a place of pressure, fear, or comparison.

We’re talking about navigating relationships, discernment, and knowing when to hold on or let go on The Middle with the Headlees. ❤️

Sometimes the pressure we put on ourselves to become everything we’re called to be can distract us from actually living the life we’ve been given.

Between marriage, entrepreneurship, ministry, leadership, and all the transitions we’ve experienced, there was a season where I became so consumed with trying to do everything well that I lost the joy of simply being present.

There’s a difference between being responsible for what God has entrusted to you and believing that everything depends on you.

Yes, to whom much is given, much is required. Growth will stretch you, and responsibility will require more of you. But that doesn’t mean you’re supposed to carry it all in your own strength… God never intended for that.

slowing down isn’t a sign that you’re falling behind… It’s how you make room to actually experience the life you’re working so hard to build.

We’re unpacking this and more on The Middle with the Headlees episode “WE HAD TO UNLEARN MARRIAGE” 🎙️👩🏾‍🤝‍👨🏼

What if your fear of losing a relationship is actually keeping that relationship from becoming healthy?

One of the things we’ve had to learn is that avoiding difficult conversations isn’t always an expression of peace. Sometimes it’s a reflection of our own fear of rejection, confrontation, or being misunderstood.

And somewhere along the way, we can begin confusing forgiveness with allowing unhealthy patterns to continue.

But here’s what we’re learning: You can love someone, extend grace, and forgive them while still being honest about what needs to change.

Healthy relationships require more than good intentions. They require the willingness to have uncomfortable conversations, establish healthy boundaries, and give one another room to grow.

Sometimes the conversation you’re most afraid to have is the very conversation your relationship needs.

We’re talking about this and so much more on The Middle with the Headlees! ❤️

Sometimes what we call “keeping the peace” is actually our fear of rejection keeping us from having the conversations we need to have.

We’ve both had to learn that avoiding conflict doesn’t necessarily mean you’re protecting a relationship. Sometimes, in trying so hard not to lose someone, you end up losing pieces of yourself.

And as believers, we have to be careful not to confuse forgiveness with the absence of healthy confrontation.

You can extend grace, have empathy, and forgive someone while still addressing unhealthy behaviors and establishing boundaries.

Because when we consistently avoid difficult conversations, we don’t just rob ourselves of the opportunity for resolution. We can also rob the other person of an opportunity to grow.

Healthy conflict resolution isn’t about winning an argument. It’s about learning how to navigate disagreements with love, honesty, and mutual respect.

We’re unpacking this and so much more in our conversation on navigating conflict, forgiveness, and healthy relationships on The Middle with the Headlees.

Sometimes all it takes is being exposed to what’s possible for a person’s imagination to come alive 🎥🎬

We had the incredible opportunity to take five of our students who have a passion for filmmaking, production, and entertainment behind the scenes of one of the most impactful television productions in the world, @thechosentvseries And to think, something of this magnitude is being created practically in their own backyard… and has been CROWD funded for all 7 seasons?!

(SEASON 6 DROPS NOVEMBER 15th) 📅

We believe wholeheartedly in the power of storytelling to shape culture, and we are even more convinced of the importance of investing in the next generation of creatives who will help shape what comes next.

It’s one thing to dream about what’s possible. It’s another thing to step into the environments where those dreams are being realized. Exposure matters. Access matters. And creating these opportunities for the next generation matters to us.

A HUGE thank you to @chadgundersen, @dallas.jenkins and the entire cast and crew whose hands and hearts have helped bring The Chosen to life. Thank you for your generosity, hospitality, and for making room for our students to experience the excellence and intentionality behind this extraordinary production.

The future of storytelling is in good hands, and we’re committed to doing our part to help prepare those hands! 🎬

One critical aspect to Marriage is reaching a place of contentment… Contentment does not mean that you don’t stay hungry for growth and for more of what God has in store, but it’s recognizing that you don’t need anything outside of God to make you complete… It is recognizing that no matter what you go through or whatever situation you find yourself in that God truly is enough, and your value is found first in him… We had an incredible conversation in the middle with @theheadlees and would love for you to talk with us about marriage, relationships, and everything in between.
