Our US importers organised a promotional tour of California, Tennessee and North Carolina earlier this month which saw us visiting distributors and trade in each state with the support of an Export Market Development Grant from @austradeofficial

Some photo highlights with Grapevine Wine Co. in Laguna Beach and San Diego CA.

In Nashville TN with Legend Australian Wine Imports.

Then Charlotte, Winston-Salem and Greensboro NC. Our final day with Tryon Distribution was spent in beautiful Highlands before we farewelled the hardworking team at their warehouse in Black Mountain.

Many thanks to @auswinelegends , @grapevinewinecompany , @tryon_distributing and @bestbrandsinc for their time with us on the road.

What makes a wine bar great?

It’s not just the cellar, the glassware, or the famous labels. The best wine bars feel like neighborhood living rooms, unofficial city halls, late-night classrooms, and reflections of the cities around them.

For @foodandwine I wrote about some of the world’s most memorable wine bars, and this is not a list of the most obvious names. These are places with a point of view, a sense of place, and a clear role in the evolution of wine culture.

Shout out to friends @peter_wine of @culturewineco and @docgkeith for getting me out to @hellachenin this year.

For those that might not have heard me on a white wine diatribe, I love Chenin Blanc nearly as much as I love Riesling, and both are easy TOP 3 white wines for me. The depth of flavor, diversity, expression of terroir, and quality from producers in California, France, South Africa, Oregon and Australia available here only goes to further that interest.

From some long time favorites like @matthiasson_wine Pax Wines (sorry, not sorry about the Reynard) @enfieldwineco and Ridge, as well as Rall, Raat, and @luddite_wines it was awesome to discover some new favorites like Rococo, @maisonnoirwines @andrehmack and @vulpeswines just to name a few. And while my personal favorites might still often be from the Loire, the quality price ratio and just pure joy delivered by so many of these other producers is undeniable.

As the temperatures warm up, grab yourself a chilled bottle of Chenin Blanc and enjoy.

Here are a few snaps of the amazing American wine professionals I had the pleasure of spending almost two weeks with while traipsing through Australian wine country.
I’ve been terrible at updating IG, but I will get more up!

Shout outs to my new fam who I absolutely fell in love with.

Q1 - Travel + celebrations part I 💛

A lot of firsts in this… first time traveling to Taos, Jackson Hole + Palm Beach. First time roasting marshmallows over a candlestick @katewebster.co 😂 First time trying 20+ back vintage Bordeaux’s in one sitting… for better or worse.

But what’s even better, the amount of quality time spent with some of the best humans. Dining at a classic with @mollybloominati and exploring new spots with @julemurph Venturing to Radio City with @ntris and always celebrating her birthday in style. A weekend of relaxation in Palm Beach with @mikknugget An epic dinner courtesy of @fobthospitality @ericawcantley 🥂 Countless precious moments in Nashville and NYC… and more to come in part II
