Plyometrics for Beginners

If you’re new to plyos, build the foundation first. Focus on landing mechanics, coordination, and control before chasing height or distance.

Try this beginner plyo circuit:

• Snap Downs – 3 × 5
• Pogos – 3 × 15
• *Unilateral Pogos – 3 × 10 each side
• Spider-Man Switches – 3 × 5 each side
• Squat Jumps – 3 × 5

Land softly, stay controlled, and give yourself plenty of rest between sets so every rep is explosive.

Just like using a resistance band for these chin-ups, sometimes we all need a little assist to get things done- especially during the end-of-school-year chaos. 😵‍💫

Between 11 cases, fifth-grade graduation, an end-of-year talent show, camp packing, and the absolute mayhem of the last week of school, the first of the month flew right by. But hey, if you forgot to feel it on the first, feel it on the fourth!

Friendly reminder: Take 60 seconds to do your self-breast exam today. You don’t need a medical degree to do it..just knowing what your own body normally looks and feels like is the goal.
Chin up, you’ve got this. Now go take care of you! 🫶

6 years.

Statistics say nearly half of businesses won’t make it this far. By year 6, many companies have already closed their doors.

Statistics also show that only about 3% of businesses in America are Black-owned. The majority remain sole proprietor businesses, and nearly 3 out of 4 Black-owned employer businesses have fewer than 10 employees. Only a small percentage ever scale beyond 1M+ in annual revenue.

Yet, by God’s grace… we made it.

Not only did we make it, but we’ve built a multimillion-dollar operation, expanded across locations, exceeded industry averages, and continued to push beyond every expectation and statistic placed in front of us.

What I’m most proud of isn’t the numbers though.

It’s the people.

The lives changed. The athletes who trusted us. The people who got out of pain. The relationships built. The team that has poured into this vision. The culture we’ve created. The countless lessons, failures, pivots, wins, and growth that shaped who we are today.

This journey has stretched me.

I’ve learned hard lessons. I’ve grown. I’ve evolved. And I’ve continued to fight for a vision bigger than myself even in seasons that tested me.

To every staff member, athlete, client, partner, friend, and supporter who has been a part of this journey, thank you. You helped build this.

We continue to work with some of the best individuals in every aspect, and I truly believe we are only scratching the surface of what’s possible.

The Word says, “He has made everything beautiful in its time”and “The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.”

Everything happens in its season.

I’m excited for all the great news we’ll be sharing this year, and even more excited for what God has in store.

Happy Birthday @wearecomplex. Year 6 🖤
