POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Longtime Stratechery reader and listener, first-time talker.

It was a real treat to nerd out on all things Amazon, Walmart, e-commerce—and of course, Meta’s Muse app and the personal AI agent craze—with Ben Thompson this week.

We also discussed the life and death of Recode, the inspiration I found there, and my conviction that The Aisle will be the last job of my career.

Link to read and listen to the interview in my bio. Let me know what you think!

Commerce innovation doesn’t happen in isolation. It takes founders building, operators scaling, investors providing capital, and journalists making sense of what’s changing.

Last week, M13 brought that ecosystem together for the first subscriber gathering of @jdelrey’s The Aisle.

Before going independent with The Aisle (on beehiiv), Jason covered commerce through enormous cycles of change for readers of AllThingsD, Recode, Vox and Fortune. He chronicled the Amazon-Walmart rivalry in Winner Sells All.

We celebrated at Buddy Buddy, a local coffee shop, where Jason was joined by M13 partner and longtime commerce investor @brentmurri for a conversation about the cycles they’ve both witnessed and how AI is changing the way we discover, choose and buy. It was packed with insights and also brief because we know why people showed up: to celebrate Jason and catch up with each other.

We’re proud to support the people helping move commerce forward.

Happy 250th to one of our greatest and most complicated loves - the United States of American. May we always see her beauty - even when it feels hard. This parade of our littlest Americans made it easy this morning. Thank you to all the families and especially to @rutherford_recreation . ❤️🤍💙 #wearerutherford #rutherfordnj #ohbeautiful #bergencounty

What a day. What a month. This team brought New York and all Knicks fans so much joy. I think of one word to define this team — relentless.

Jalen Brunson is the fiercest leader and competitor that I’ve ever seen on a field or a court. He is the King of New York. The math just doesn’t work. It just doesn’t add up to make this legend. That’s why sports is art and he is one of the greatest artists.

Blessed to have witnessed firsthand their ferocious comeback in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Finals. Blessed to have witnessed each victory with family and friends.

There was so much unfiltered joy in the streets today. It was a collective catharsis. A City and fanbase that has endured so many challenges these past 25 years since 9/11 finally got to breathe collectively. Go Knicks!

My husband and brother have commiserated on their Knicks love since they met almost thirty years ago. I’m so happy for them. The cover of my husband says it all. #goknicks #knicksinfive

One of the first people I told outside of my family and colleagues that I was launching @readtheaisle was Krystina Gustafson, co-founder and co-CEO of @retailclubevents.

I followed Krystina way back in her CNBC days and continued to when she led content at Shoptalk. But the main reason I wanted to give her a heads up last fall was that I saw a lot of alignment and potential collaboration opportunities between my media company and her new AI retail event franchise.

So I'm thrilled that we'll be partnering on the RetailClub AI Festival in Huntington Beach this September, where I'll be moderating onstage, interviewing executives offstage, and hosting an intimate salon dinner for retail leaders (sponsors, let's talk).

It was fun to catch up with Krystina in this interview, where I explain why this was the right time for me to take the entrepreneurial leap... and a lot more that'll show up in future clips.
