You look back and admire your growth. You realize how much more you know now as opposed to what you knew back then. Yet back then you thought you had a pretty good idea of how things were.
This knowledge should now be your humility for the future.
Be open minded. Realize there is so much more to learn and be excited to learn it. Most importantly, be humble along the way.
.
Be better today than you were yesterday. And while your doing that, give back, don't just take.

People often say "Trust the process"..... but noone tells you the amount of discipline, hard work, dedication and patience it will take.
The gym never changes you, but you change in the gym and you change yourself.

What made me decide to launch our "SoberAF" line?

I've been asked this question many times. "After all, isn't Valor a Fitness Clothing line?"..... Yes, but it's also much more than that. It's a brand supporting/inspiring recovery thru community/unity. With an emphasis on the addiction recovery community

But why did I finally decide to launch the SoberAF design? If I want to be completely honest it's multiple reasons, accountability definitely being one.

I'm an addict in recovery, was homeless right before I started this brand. I wanted this brand to aid & inspire other addicts in Recovery. Using physical fitness as a powerful tool within their recovery, because it has been so beneficial in mine.

Now to the honest part of accountability for me.

I was drinking during our first 2 photo shoots. Literally beer or vodka in hand as we are running a photo shoot for a Fitness Clothing Line dedicated to aiding and inspiring addicts in recovery. I had gotten to 11 months sober but slipped, and slipped hard. After losing side jobs & getting eviction notices on my door in early 2019, I knew I couldn't live thru another long run. My body was giving up & I was feeling extreme guilt with this brand.

I was finally able to pull myself out of that relapse. Got myself to around 5 months sober and knew I wanted and needed something to motivate and hold me more accountable. And if it could work for me, then maybe it could work for others as well. So I designed & launched this "SoberAF" line and it has been our most popular design. Nothing holds me more accountable than this printed boldy across my chest. Today I am 780 days sober & I proudly recover outloud. 🙏🏼💙
