The Energy… of last night’s show in Brooklyn was explosive. 💥WOW. Thank you to everyone who showed up and raised the vibration of the space. Brought me back to my old days of the Afrospot. This is the new AMAYO band with some OGs from Antibalas and some of my favorite musicians.

Bandcamp Friday just got a lot more interesting! This month, Nublu Records arrives with a full slate of new releases, pre-orders, and catalog gems. Brazilian groove, New York soul, Istanbul psychedelia, and everything in between. Today, every dollar goes straight to the artists.

Cidadão Instigado — Cidadão Instigado
Born from pandemic isolation and a Roland MV-8800 sampler, it’s the sound of the Brazilian metropolis reimagined, electronic, dance floor ready, and deeply human.

Blurry the Explorer — Clear Blue Mind
An album that moves like water, through Portuguese, English, and Spanish, through São Paulo and New York, through groove and reverie.

Animal Invisível — Animal Invisível
Guitarist Guri Assis Brasil channels pandemic introspection into something kinetic and alive through layered grooves, vibrant horns, and psychedelic synths that feel like a jam session that never wants to end.

Marcelo Callado — Brado
A declaration from one of Brazil’s most compelling percussionists. Urgent, purposeful, and deeply felt. Music with something to say.

Ilhan Ersahin — Istanbul Sessions: Mahalle
The pulse of Istanbul’s neighborhoods in a record that blends jazz, electronics, and the ancient city’s restless, nocturnal spirit.

Phenomenal Handclap Band — We Are Worlds Away
An EP that sounds like a party and a reverie at the same time with their signature blend of disco, soul, and psychedelia.

JMMR — Resistance Is Fertile
Danceable, defiant, and alive. JMMR’s album treats joy as a political act and the dance floor as common ground.
