My first half marathon, done on no training in some brutal heat. Only managed to get through it thanks to my amazing co-runners @wavemakernick @joolsparsons & Matt V ❤️ and of course the cheering from the crowds made every step a little easier.

This one was for Justin, and for my grandmother, who also suffered from pancreatic cancer. Very special to do it on the solstice too.

The donation link is still open, it would mean the world if you have anything to donate!

Big love 🤍

Some memories don’t fade.
They live in our skin.
In the salt behind our eyes.
In the sound of waves we still hear,
even in silence.

Memories are in the mind.
But the deepest ones…
live in the body.

The shiver of a first cold water.
The rhythm of breath before a wave.
A hug, a chat and being still together.
Moments like those don’t just pass.
They shape us.

Water remembers.
And when we’re near it,
so do we.

I just did a talk about the whole process of:

Finding land
Getting a technology partner
Securing planning
Building a team
Raising £millions
Constructing a world first
Opening to the public

Etc etc etc.

I look in the mirror

Proud and wiser (and a bit tired!)

Bonkers journey

But it’s always about the people

The people who get it

Authentically

The real Wavemakers

We have been flipping through the archives as we near our 5 year anniversary.

I was asked to think of some pictures that I am proud of.

I think this was one of my proudest moments.

A surf brand released a picture of lots of women on surfboards looking wistfully as a man surfed “the big stuff”.

Next thing I know, the team organised a “counter” shoot with reversed roles.

I honestly cried when I saw this.

Everything The Wave should stand for, and stand against.

Captured in a moment.

Total pride in our Wavemakers.

My journey at the Wave has come to an end. I have made some incredible memories and friends along the way and immensely proud of the products I launched and the coaches I trained. Thank you to those who supported me and @wavemakernick for making his vision reality!

Swipe for some of my favourite memories, it was pretty difficult to only pick a few!

Excited for the next chapter 🔥

1) Climate change baton relay, definitely the scariest thing I’ve done trying to not drop the baton whilst on TV. Thanks @abbycornwall for all the opportunities!

2) The lovely @openmindsactive crew, had the absolute pleasure of coaching these ladies for two courses and loved seeing them grow and progress.

3) Blue Earth Summit 2021 Barrels

4) First day at the Wave in a coaching rashvest and made it on the news for Blue Health.

5) Going live for the One Show discussing World Ocean Day for Schools 2023

6) End of Season Party in 2021, what a team

7) @waveprojectbristol the highlight of my week 💙 I will miss these so much

8) My last Advanced Coaching session with these legends. Incredibly proud of how popular the new Advanced coaching and Little Rippers products are after all my hard work.

9) Summer 2023 Dream team

10) My partner in crime

3 of the most helpful tips people have given me recently:
1. 🔥Tip from @joolsparsons - Keep your head up high during take off - it means you don’t weight and unweight the board as much - helps your feet go in the right place and makes you feel like you’ve got 1-2 seconds extra time as you drop down
2. 🔥Tip from Rod @lomasfurniture - On take off lead with your head and chest forwards - throw yourself over the ledge - it gets you tracking down and along the wave quicker and also helps get your front foot placed further down the board toward the nose (the tendency is to sit back especially if the takeoff is steeper)
3. 🔥Tip from @ad.hutchison - As you complete your turn look and point your head towards the beach - it will give you a bit of extra curve in your turn (I remembered to do this on my 3rd turn here)
