Return to Run Day 1 ⚔️ : first day back on the pavement in about a month. The longest I’ve gone in the two years I’ve been running. A torn labrum since April, but here we are, starting from scratch basically. Slow, fluid build. There may be setbacks, obstacles, pain, and more, but with discipline we can hopefully push through this with no surgery. Follow the comeback ❤️‍🔥#running #comebackseason #adidas #recovery #tornlabrum

Acknowledging four straight years of podium finishes at the @crraceseries . This year our team placed #2 out of 98 teams running a 51 mile relay from Selma to Montgomery. Charting the path our fore-bearers marched for their rights to be acknowledged as a person by having the right to vote.

A well organized & planned race that MATTERS.

How important is it for our community pools to be open and available? As of now there are 0 life guards committed to working at these pools. If you know any youth/young adults that know how to swim (properly trained) and would like to certify as a lifeguard please have them follow the instructions on the flyers. Lifeguards are NEEDED for the pools to be open.

What a weekend in Scotlandville! 🐝

This year’s 9th Annual Scotlandville High Gumbo Run was our biggest yet, with 150+ runners of all ages taking on the 5K through the heart of the community. From first-time runners to seasoned athletes, the energy was unmatched!

Even more important, this year’s run helped raise funds to support student programming and educational opportunities at Scotlandville High School, investing directly into the future of our young people.

A huge thank you to Donnie Jackson ( @donniej50 ) for serving up incredible gumbo for runners at the finish line!

We are also incredibly grateful to all of our community partners, sponsors, volunteers, and supporters who helped make this year’s event the most successful yet.

See you at the 10th Annual Gumbo Run in 2027!🏃🏿‍♂️🏃🏾‍♀️
