🌙 THE DREAMY SIDE OF DISKO 🌙
🔺 “Wolkman (Julia Holter Remix)” is OUT NOW!
@juliaholter took this exuberant dance anthem and lead it into the shadows: she transformed “Wolkman”’s playful energy into something haunting, melancholic and strangely beautiful, adding her own ethereal vocals along the way. As Julia puts it, she was tempted to leave the track alone and sing over it, but instead couldn’t resist creating its “shadowy, melancholic alter ego.” The result feels like Wolkman caught in a half-speed dream after the club has emptied and the sun is coming up. Thanks, Julia, for a super fun collaboration! 🙌🏼

It’s the third single from “Pyramid Disko (Captain Fluo Night Versions)“, featuring remixes by @morcheebaband, @teamyacht, @mikeparadinas, @acid_washed, @sorcerermusic, @voyag3rband, @jonnyosojamz, and @dreamdivisionmusic.
💿 The LP is available now for pre-order digitally and on midnight blue vinyl on @hologram_opera (link in bio).

To celebrate the third birthday of @emmaandersonmusic’s stunning @thisismaps-produced debut solo album ‘Pearlies’ we have restocked her @bandcamp with Pearly White and Pink Pearl vinyl variants, as well as the last few copies of the gorgeous, glittery cassette version.

There are also copies of the following year’s sister album ‘Spiralée: Pearlies Rearranged’ – featuring tracks from the album reimagined by Daniel Hunt from @ladytron, Concretism, @loneladyhq, @dearyband, @thisismaps, @memorialsmusic, @juliaholter, @obsoletelorelle, @theorielles and @masalbanduk – on Pearly White vinyl and CD.

All available from the link in bio!

I'm really pleased with the whole package of this musical document. Thanks so much to Steven at @aum.fidelity for wanting to give this music new life, and for encouraging using my landscape photos and liner notes. It all feels so personal, so to have that support and trust means a lot.
I also agree with his thoughts that this be a CD release; the format works so well for quiet, acoustic, low-end rich music. And thanks to @tdngvna for the lettering and co-design with Steven.

For those curious, the music is a fairly witchy mixture of original pieces and arrangements of traditional songs, primarily featuring the bowed double bass, with beautiful musical contributions from @juliaholter and @tarajaneoneil.

You can get copies either through my Bandcamp page (link in bio) or through Aum Fidelity directly. Or you could come to my How I Play "Basscraft" performance and spiel at @synthiastudio in Manhattan on Thursday, 10/22 and buy one in person. More solo shows to be announced soon.

Blessed be 🖤

One of the best parts of creating Times Undoing & Progress was getting to work with the most thoughtful, creative, wonderful friends and musicians, each of whom brought their own unique voice and delightfully strange sounds to the project.

This album was a HUGE undertaking, and I'm so grateful to everyone who helped bring it to life. ❤️

A little introduction to some of the amazing people involved (swipe to meet them!):

@juliaholter contributes incredible vocals, moving between delicate, intimate melodies and wild, otherworldly vocal textures

@theothertimfeeney plays allllll the duck calls, train whistles, planks of wood, giant metal coils, and brings so much energy and humor to this music

@gastonsounds contributes an incredible array of skronks, plops, whooshes, and other electronic and daxophone sounds

@vinnygolia brings an amazing collection of woodwinds to the project, from piccolo to contrabass quarter-tone flute to bass saxophone -- along with his signature honks, growls, + flurries

@jcscheid plays all the wild, woozy, chaotic flute parts (so beautifully!) and is a true master of the kazoo

@ben_fin and @ixeen_ round out the vocal chorus with playful hockets, gasps, bellows, warbles, + powerful storytelling

I feel incredibly lucky to have worked with such imaginative, adventurous, and generous collaborators. This music wouldn't be what it is without them.

You can listen to the 1st single on my Bandcamp page now (link in bio); and pre-order the double LP / double CD :)

Thank you for listening ❤️
