Labor Day weekend in Nashville🇺🇸
The kind that fills your cup!

Best friends, a beautiful new home, Chris’s BIG 5-0, Tillman + Tucker time, river fishing, a murder mystery show, and a little jaunt to Amish country. We definitely did the most. 🏠 🥳👦👦🎣🫆🔎🐴

The FOOD + DRINK menu from The Sunday Swap Garden Dinner 🍽️
-
I try to shake things up a bit and be different from my previous garden parties. But one thing I’ve been consistent on is the use of the food I grow in the garden. I try to incorporate everything I can in every course.
And the dessert …the Lemon Cheesecake Mousse I made the 1st year at the Little Pond Garden dinner was a smash hit - all the girls asked me for the recipe & are still talking about it years later. So the following year I made it again but with Key Lime & again…a smash! So I wanted to do it again but this time with one of my favorite fruits…Grapefruit! And omg! It was SO DAHLicious ☺️!

🎶 I want a house with a crowded table 🤌🏼 part 2
A Sunday Swap that started at 5pm and lasted until after midnight. A garden dinner under the grape vines, pergola & party lights. We prayed, laughed, cried & arm wrestled over butter haha we all bonded and had a beautiful time.
It was truly special. I will never get over this one …

🌽 Calling all my crafty, home growin’, hand makin’ girls! This is your sign to throw a FRIENDS FARMERS MARKET “SUNDAY SWAP” party! Perfect way to close out summer! Call all your crafty farmers & get the best group of girls together for the most fun ever! This was actually one of my favorite events I’ve ever thrown.

I was in awe of these girls and their talents they brought to the table! I knew when I had to fill 10 seats for the Garden dinner /farmers market I was going to ask my girls that love farming & homemaking as much as I do. They did not disappoint! Half of them have working farms themselves. It was a treat to see these boss babes in action! Can’t wait to host another one! Maybe the fall? 🧑‍🌾
Here are some of the items that we swapped at the market:
•homemade kale pesto from @littlepondfarmtn garden
•essential oil bugspray & personalized notepads by @glitterinthegritty
•flower bar by @marabethpoole
•homemade granola by @kasirosa Rosa Farms
•Cowboy Caviar by @evashockey
•homemade beef jerky by @magnoliafarmevents
•honey from bees on her farm @saintsomewherefarm
•craft bell pepper cocktails by @iveychilders & @drinksouthbound
•Artisan homemade sourdough bread by @kortnieoc

In just a few weeks, my 2 younger boys will attend the same school where I spent my entire childhood from K-12.

A place that gave me so much: My best friend Kasi, some of my favorite memories, and a mentor who helped shape me—Coach Danny Camp.

I took Langston to his 1st football practice there and got to catch up with Coach Camp, who is now the Athletic Director. Walking into his office 24 years later, I noticed a picture by his desk: Me, Kasi, and our teammate Courtney after we won the 1st softball region championship in our school’s history.

A few years ago, Coach Camp asked me to speak to one of his teams before a big game. When I found that speech again, I was reminded of the impact he had on me. He taught me how to be an athlete, and most of all, how to live life.

My notes for that speech said:
1. Work hard. Play hard. Success comes from giving your best, even when it’s difficult. Even when you’re going thru life’s challenges that no one sees or maybe even cares to see. Keep going.
2. Learn to overcome adversity. Challenges and trials…they’re inevitable. Injuries, illness, disappointments, heartbreak. Stay mentally tough, keep moving forward, and don’t let those setbacks define you.
3. The little things become big things. Every practice, every extra lap around the entire school (which assuredly led to vomiting), every choice to do things the right way even when no one notices or ever sees…that builds who you become.

Coach Camp has plenty of wins, but his greatest accomplishment is the lives he’s impacted…helping young people become adults with grit, resilience, and character.

What are the odds that my boys will get to begin their own chapter under his leadership? Let’s go Cougars! 🐾 💙🖤🤍

One of the best stops of Lincoln’s Senior Trip. 🎣

Fly fishing the Madison River in Ennis, Montana with our own amazing fishing guides from @madisontackleshop , staying in the sweetest cabins @elwesterncabinsandlodges , and visiting veteran-owned Willie’s Distillery @williesdistillery. Hard to beat a few days like that.

There’s something extra special about celebrating the wedding of one of your best friend’s daughters. 🤍

What a beautiful evening celebrating Taylor & Kendall! A gorgeous wedding, so much fun, and I wouldn’t have missed it for anything. Wishing you both a lifetime of love + laughter.

And the epic ending…Linc bringing hot dogs to the dance floor! 🌭🎉💍✨💃🕺💪🤦‍♀️😂
