At Current Electric, giving back isn’t just something we do—it’s who we are.

For our owner, Chuck Smith, it all started with one family. Wanting to help Kendra and her son, Everett, led Chuck to LifeStriders, where he discovered the incredible impact equine-assisted therapy has on individuals and families. That one connection turned into a lasting commitment to volunteering and supporting an organization that’s changing lives every day.

That same heart for serving others is what drives Current Electric.

When you hire Current Electric, you’re choosing more than an electrical contractor. You’re choosing a company led by people who care deeply about their neighbors, invest in their community, and believe in doing the right thing.

Those values don’t stop at volunteering—they carry over into every service call, every installation, and every customer interaction. We believe that when you genuinely care about people, it shows in the work you do.

We’re proud to power homes across Wisconsin while supporting organizations like LifeStriders that make our communities stronger.

Thank you for trusting a company that’s committed to making a difference—both on and off the job.

It was truly wonderful to see so many friends at the Shadow Side reception last weekend, including a surprise visit from our @uiowaart grad school friend @ryanstandfest (loved seeing you!)

I only captured a few photos because I was living in the moment, but a great evening to do so. Thanks to everyone who came out. I’m biased but it is an incredible exhibit, make sure to see it before it closes.

kbulgrin Some juicy paint for you all this morning! I paint with m. Graham paints and walnut oil exclusively! Cuts down on the nasty stuff.

God knows I have enough crap in my body so this is one way I can try and be safer.

Going to get this painting finished ✅ 💪

Win! Win! Win!
Support the Arts! Support the Gallery!
Procure this Art!
And celebrate 3 lovely Taureans birthdays! 🎂

Why support the Gallery?

From the moment Nova stepped forward with the generous idea of donating a painting, the spirit of community and creativity blossomed. Artists from near and far began contributing their work, embracing the mission of supporting this beloved gallery—a space that has long been dedicated to uplifting emerging artists, especially women and mothers, as we all are mothering and nurturing our creative spirit.

At the heart of this gallery is Kendra, a lifelong artist whose passion for the arts began with a paintbrush in her hand as a child. She transformed that love into teaching, championing local talent, and eventually opening the gallery in Algoma, WI, in 2014. For over a decade, this gallery has served as a vital platform for artists, fostering creativity and connection. Through the years, Kendra’s dedication has carried the gallery through its challenges: navigating the pandemic, overcoming personal hardships, relocating from Algoma, and transitioning to an online presence before finding a new home in Milwaukee.

We invite you to join us in sustaining this haven for creativity. Whether through a donation, purchasing artwork, or spreading the word about the gallery, your contribution helps keep the flame of artistic expression alive. Together, we can ensure the spirit of this gallery for years to come.

Donate today and be a part of the story of resilience, creativity, and community.

A huge thank you to Brian Frink for Jurying this year’s Art of Water exhibition!

Here is an excerpt from his juror’s statement. Read the entire piece on Facebook or at the opening on May 2nd 5-8! 💙🌊💙

“The history of art is replete with images of water. Consider Monet’s waterlilies, Rembrandt’s great painting “Woman Bathing in a Stream,” or Bernini’s sculpture/fountain, Fountain of the Four Rivers, which uses water as a sculptural element. There are countless examples of water in contemporary and modern art. It is a powerful metaphor for our sense of self and being.
The sound of water, its movement, and the way it reflects light all contribute to the mystery and the poetry of our inner response to its presence.
Another interesting thing about water is that the amount on our planet is fixed. Unlike a work of art, new water is never created. It is part of a vast planetary cycle. The exact amount of water that is here now, in its many forms, is all that we have; it is all we have ever that flowed through our ancestors flows through us. Unlike water, new art is created constantly. It flows out of us.
Despite our social and environmental challenges, we live in a creative renaissance. More art is being made, exhibited, and written about than ever before in human history. Every small town nationwide has one, two, or even more art galleries or centers showing local art. The art scenes in urban centers are booming with exhibitions and excitement. Unlike water, human creativity and the power of our imagination is unlimited. This fact alone gives me great hope.”
