Working hard. Laughing harder. 😂💪

Knee stretches, frogs, and leg circles—each movement gives us something to refine: abdominal control, coordination, and keeping the pelvis steady as the legs move.

We’re learning to move with intention, give clearer cues, and notice the little details. We’re also learning that a good laugh belongs in the workout. Especially when you watch the blooper at the end. 🤣

Over the last seven weeks, training partners and colleagues have become close friends who feel like family. The shared effort, encouragement, and moments between exercises have made this experience so special. ❤️

Taking the practice seriously while leaving plenty of room to enjoy ourselves.

🔥 The challenge isn’t just moving your leg—it’s keeping your pelvis steady while you do it.

The Glute Bridge with Leg Sweep brings strength, stability, and control into one movement. 🍑💪

You can see my hips dipping slightly here—a reminder that there’s always room to refine. The goal: keep the pelvis lifted, stable, and level throughout the exercise, even as the leg sweeps.

🎯 Muscles targeted:

▫️ Posterior chain, Glutes and hamstrings: Lift and support the hips.
▫️ Hip stabilizers: Help keep the pelvis level.
▫️ Abdominals and obliques: Control rotation and help prevent excessive back arching.
▫️ Hip flexors and quadriceps: Lift the sweeping leg and keep it extended.

🙌 The arms are active, too! Press your palms and arms into the mat to stabilize your upper body and create a steady foundation.

✨ Think: lifted pelvis, level hips, long leg, controlled sweep.

This movement builds hip stability and awareness of posture and alignment. Keep breathing, and shorten the sweep if your hips begin to dip or tilt.

🙏 Thank you to @juliaclementine_ for leading this tower workout during last weekend’s Pilates teacher training! @revival.pilates Grateful for the guidance and opportunities to keep refining my practice.

This week marks 5 years of teaching yoga at @blackswanyogahouston.

Growing up, I never thought any form of movement was for me. And I sure as heck never thought I’d be teaching movement to others.

Forever grateful to @blackswanyoga for creating a space that allowed me to fall in love with the practice and to build this incredible community of humans.

If you’ve ever come to a class, taught a class I attended, or even flowed in the same room… know that I have so much love for you! ✨💫🌟
