Slackline adventures of Kasia and Matze

POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Some adventures begin years before you know you’re going on them.

I met my friend Matze climbing giant sequoias in California with the Ancient Forest Society. We connected over photography, a shared sense of humour and a curiosity for complicated ways of experiencing the world.

Years later, he messaged. A team of Polish and German highliners were coming to Utah to rig a line between Castleton Tower and the Rectory. Could I help?

Of course.

I loaded hundreds of metres of static rope, over 100 cams and an unreasonable amount of rigging equipment, and headed south.

Matze and I climbed the North Chimney of Castleton, fixing ropes to raise the line from the desert floor. Nearly 500 metres separated the towers. People became specks against the sandstone as radios crackled between summits and the line slowly rose across the void.

Wind complicated everything, a storm was approaching, friends BASE jumped Castleton while we worked, and there was some questionable soloing. But the team pulled together, and eventually the line was tensioned.

Then they walked it.

Watching someone step into that much empty space, almost disappearing against the vast desert landscape, was extraordinary. A reminder of our small place in the world and our remarkable ability to imagine something improbable, then make it happen.

Perhaps that’s what I love most about these adventures. People from different corners of the world, connected by curiosity, building friendships that endure across continents and years.

Thanks to the whole crew. Until the next one.

Behala Westhafen let us hang the longest line in Berlin once again. 300 meters at 40 meters high.

Three years later, we came back full of energy and motivation for another training session. Old and new faces, almost 20 slackliners had the chance to enjoy the view of the whole city from above.

Some sessions were very demanding because of the strong wind, while others were simply blissful, with a perfect sunset in the background.

We're very grateful!

Najtrudniej jest wstać.

Patrząc na niego, pomyślałem o czymś zupełnie zwyczajnym.

Ja, kiedy wstaję z fotela, podpieram się ręką. Mam oparcie. Mam podłogę pod nogami. Właściwie nawet się nad tym nie zastanawiam.

On nie miał ani jednego, ani drugiego.

A potem zrobić pierwszy krok.

On zrobił to dosłownie.

Kilkadziesiąt metrów nad ziemią.

Przewiń zdjęcia. To historia jednego wstania. #highline #slackline #slackliner

Klassenfahrt nach Linthe 2026

Was für ein schönes, heißes, akrobatisch-geselliges Wochenende! 🌅

Another Ostrov Baby!

3 days of fun, a lot of sun and challenging wind.

This year the Berlin Team together with @slacknetzleipzig rigged 3 long highlines in Himmelreich and 2 absolute classics (MOTU and Hippiepunk).

Everything went smoothly thanks to our great riggers.🙏🏽

Everyone was collecting meters for the "Mai Meter Mission".

Stay slack 🤙🏽
