I am late on posting everything but here it is ♥️😁
I actually ended up changing shoes at the end because I could not wear heels anymore from walking a lot. My Eastern European high heel gene must have gotten altered at some point 😬

Last week I hosted our first-ever LIVE recording of the Voted Least Likely Podcast.

On the morning of the event I was trying to think of an excuse I could make up to cancel it. Some of you may not know this, but speaking in front of an audience (of any size) TERRIFIES me. I used to have such bad anxiety that my face would twitch so much that I couldn’t see straight.

I sweat through two shirts during the day and ended up wearing a blank one that Kyle brought for me (the perks of dating a screen printer) @unimpressedscreenprinting

I was shaking before it started, during, and after.

But I did it.

I chose to do something that scared me, and I chose to have witnesses😉

This is the point. We can change. We can grow. But sometimes we have to put ourselves in situations that force it to happen.

And guess what?

I’m planning on doing it all over again next year🫠

A huge thank-you to the team that made it as easy as it could possibly be: Ryan, Violet @violet.dolejsi, Jenn @jenn_wint, Kyle @unimpressedscreenprinting, Sarah @sarahdarceystyle, and Eliza @elizatrendiak

And to everyone who came out and supported, thank-you so much💗

So, what exactly is Shedding the Shame Live and why should you come?

@sheddingtheshamepodcast is the podcast I started seven months ago for women who are done whispering about the hard things they’ve been told to keep quiet about.

We’ve talked about hair loss, infertility, estrangement, emotional abuse, domestic violence, grief, body image, and so much more.

I’ve released 26 episodes with women who have been incredibly brave and vulnerable in sharing their stories, and I’ve loved every single minute of it, but there’s something I’ve been wanting to create that a podcast can’t quite give us:

In-person connection.

I think women need to be in a room together sometimes.

We need to sit across from each other.
We need to laugh.
We need to breathe.
We need to feel less alone.
We need a place where we don’t have to pretend everything is fine.

That’s what I’m creating on October 1st at @leahyarddesigns in Vancouver.

It’s going to be an evening of support, connection, safety and a little bit of fun. @duchesscocktails is sponsoring the drinks, and fun little fact about me: I’m also a trained breathwork facilitator, so I’ll be leading you through some gentle breathwork to open and close the evening.

I’ll share some of my own shame stories and things I’ve learned from the women who have joined me on the podcast.

Then, you’ll have the opportunity to connect in small groups and share something you want to let go of, or something you want to bring more of into your life for the rest of the year.

No forced vulnerability, performing, or pretending.

Just women showing up as themselves.

If you live in Vancouver or nearby, I would genuinely love to see you there. Or if you know a woman who could use a night like this, tag her in the comments. I may just give away a free ticket for fun. 💙

Tickets are available through the link in my bio.

Hope to see you there.

Bald Barbie wants you to come too. 😉

We’re taking the Voted Least Likely podcast offline 👀

On October 7th, I’m bringing the podcast into the Leah Yard Designs studio @leahyarddesigns for a very special LIVE recording.

I started Voted Least Likely because I wanted to have the conversations about entrepreneurship that I felt were missing — the rejection, the failures, the pivots, the uncertainty, and all the moments that don’t make it onto social media.

For this live recording, I’ll be joined by Sarah D’Arcey @sarahdarceystyle and Eliza Trendiak @elizatrendiak for an honest conversation about ambition, building a career, taking risks, figuring things out as you go, facing rejection, and continuing anyway.

No polished success stories. No pretending we have it all figured out.

Just a really honest conversation with people who have been in the trenches too.

October 7th · 6–9 PM

🎟️ Tickets are available now — link in bio.

Come hang out, listen in, and maybe leave feeling a little less alone in your own journey.
