GRADUATION SHOW 2022 | STORE

This year’s graduation show will include 5 possible platforms that students can choose from, based on what platform(s) fits their project best. In addition to the Exhibition, the WdKA introduced a Stage where presentations and dialogue take place, a programme with Workshops and a Store for presenting books, editioned objects and fashion. This year, for the first time in the history of our academy, we are launching a multi-day Film Festival for students students’ whose graduation project includes film or video.

In the store, you can find objects designed and made by students as part of their graduation project. One of the graduate students that will sell their work in the store is Leonardo Vomend de Anda (product design, autonomous practice). He will be selling coffee cups and samples of the tiles he made as part of his graduation project ‘recraft’, that will also be part of the exhibition. ‘Recraft’ is a project that includes a collection of rice grain pattern tiles, that can be used for all sorts of architectural and design based implementations.

“Ideally we all want to make a living with what we’re graduating with. Selling products at the Graduation Store is the perfect way to test out your designs and see how the public reacts to it”, says Leonardo. “I will be selling parts of my research process in the form of samples and try outs. I think it’s cool that by selling these, people can have a piece of my research in a more interesting form than a research publication.”

Swipe to see footage of Leonardo’s process.

You can see Leonardo’s work at the Graduation Show from 13 to 17 July 2022. Check the website for more information.
