In 2021, our community experienced the devastating reality of gun violence. At the time, we had no immediate resources and no clear roadmap for what to do next. But times have changed, and we’ve learned that we don’t have to face these tragedies alone.
In the heartbreaking aftermath of the murder of a woman and her child, we stand united in saying enough is enough. Communities across the Bay Area are coming together to take a stand against domestic violence and gun violence, to connect families with resources, and to create real solutions that can prevent future tragedies.
Through education, collaboration, and collective action, we can empower people to step in, support one another, and protect families before it’s too late.
Join us this Saturday at 1 PM in Mill Valley. Wear black, bring a red rose, and stand together with us.

We are devastated by the news of another potentially preventable tragedy. Unfortunately, we know this pain all too well. Our hearts are with everyone affected by the heartbreaking loss of SFPD Former Deputy Chief Ann Mannix and her 25 year old daughter, Katherine. The Suspect is Ann’s husband and Katherine’s father, SFPD Sergeant Kevin Mannix.
At Pierce’s Pledge, we know we cannot simply take guns away from people, but we can take meaningful steps to reduce the risk of gun violence and save lives. We believe safe gun storage is one important part of the solution.
One important preventive step is storing firearms offsite before a known critical moment—whether a family is experiencing a crisis, a custody dispute, or another situation where access to a firearm could put lives at risk. Planning ahead and temporarily storing firearms away from the home can be a meaningful step toward preventing tragedy.
We are committed to offering practical resources that empower families and communities to help prevent the next tragedy.

From Pawz for Pierce’s Playaz to the 2026 San Francisco Gun Buyback! 🐾💙

Pierce’s Pledge Board Member Nika Robani Shirani proudly presented $17,400 raised by our incredible kids to support the 2026 Gun Buyback, helping get guns off the streets and making our communities safer.

What started with a dream and a group of kids who wanted to make a difference has grown into something truly powerful. Pawz for Pierce’s Playaz has brought together young people from across San Francisco to turn compassion into action—and prove that you’re never too young to make a difference.

These kids aren’t just the future. They’re making change right now.

Because when kids come together with purpose, community, and heart, incredible things happen. ❤️

We were proud to sponsor the AFCC Safety First: Family Violence in the Context of Family Law conference, connecting with family law professionals who are on the front lines of some of the most difficult and vulnerable moments for children and families.

We’re there to share the Pierce’s Pledge mission and, most importantly, our resources for reducing access to firearms during custody disputes and other times of family crisis.

Family law professionals have a unique opportunity to help make firearm safety part of the conversation — because sometimes, a simple question or resource can help prevent a tragedy.

We’re grateful to AFCC and Michael A. Saini, PhD, MSW, RSW, for bringing this important community together and for giving Pierce’s Pledge a seat at the table.
