~ summer 2022 ~ was full of big changes. @philippeflap and I said goodbye to the city we called home for the last 12/11 years (respectively). PDX brought us a lot of wonderful times, and (more importantly) a lot of wonderful people. From those early dorm days to the trail connections, we feel incredibly grateful to have found friends who became our family.

Unfortunately, it seems that we are not very good at taking photos with friends (Lily dominates our cameras). This is just a small snippet of some of the people who have filled our hearts in PDX this summer. We’re excited about our new home & the connections it’ll bring.

We miss you (yes you, reading this!) — get your butts out to Boise!

This has been such a surreal week, I’ve had a lot of moments where I’ve started to feel that spiral of anxiety that I think a lot of us are feeling. I crave stability and things have felt very unstable... There is one amazing thing that has never felt more stable though and that is my community. My work @cascadiapilates and @yogabhogapdx is not just a job with coworkers and paying patrons. My work is a second home, I have coworkers who have become my chosen family and our patrons are the most amazing/curious and thoughtful people many of which I truly consider to be friends.
We’ve been able to start teaching some virtual classes and the feeling of support and love that has come from this community has been so immense and humbling it has left me for a loss of words these last few days.
I never thought I would be teaching to 70 little boxes with little faces in my computer screen but here we are and I’m glad to be here in whatever way is possible. Regardless of what side of the screen I’m on teaching or taking class I get to see those little faces in those little boxes and it’s bringing me so much joy.
There have been faces of long time best friends, faces from my actual family along with my chosen family, and furry animal friend faces and smiling children’s faces. These faces are keeping me from spiraling out. I can’t offer much to the world in these weird times but I am lucky enough to be able to offer an hour of movement and connection here and there. If you want to join us I’d love to have you there too.
And if you’re still with me just remember we’re all in this together 💛

Link to class schedule is in my bio :)
