Absolutely obsessed with being alive! Utterly, completely and entirely in love with being here; in-the-carne(nation) for 34 years, breathing in the beautiful, wild, mystical, deep, absurd, fun, sweet and real beat poetry that is my life. I have made my vow to Life, to live and love it in its totality. And to care for it, to guard it, and to be taught by it. All of it. Lover and Beloved. I love driving through the landscape of a setting sun, windows down, music all the way up and songs slipping off my tongue and I just keep thinking: thank you thank you thank you. My wish for my birthday (which was yesterday) is that we don’t become lazy with Life, with what is sacred. I wish that we continue to be curious and willing to be intimate with life, ourselves and each other. That we continue to practice guardianship of the holy and the innocent. That we continue to remember who we are. And have fun. And dance. And hug. And make love. And make good shit. And pick up our trash. And cry, from feeling deeply — joy and grief alike. My wish is that we continue to look at one another when we talk, to listen deeply and to continue to care a fuck ton. My big prayer is that we find it in our hearts and in our own way to leave this precious life and world a little realer, a little freer and soaked, runneth over in radical love. Thank you life, thank you mother, thank you fam, thank you friends, thank you muses, thank you movers, shakers, lovers and creators. Thank you to every single one who makes my atomic structure of 30 trillion cells rejoice, dance and mosh pit with the sonic sound of LOVE!

I feel at home where the knotted roots of trees break through concrete. Where life and houses are crooked and colorful. Where my life is adjusting and according to nature, and not the other way around. I feel at home in places where the river doesn’t let me pass for 48 hours because she is busy rising, and her wish is my command. Longing for beauty, longing for home, we try to capture to keep, instead we constrict, no oxygen to breathe, no wilted ways for unfurling. No, no I feel at home where a certain kind of chaos rule superior to the grip of control. Spiced air, sonic secretion from sounds and unbothered animals as traffic. I can laugh from the base of my spine in these places. The absurdity in close connection with clay and poetry, here I find myself at home.

Moving to another country, it is only your duty to let it change you. Your only duty is to let foreign affairs purify what is changeable, and strengthen in you what is true. I can be true and unchanged at the same time, can I? Do the truest things about us change? No, they remain, don’t they? Such as the love for round, ochre houses. Remains the same. Moving to a new place, don’t come knowing anything, put forth the willingness to be touchable and changeable. The willingness to sound like a fool when you order a coffee in a foreign language.

Perhaps, home is malleable and moveable in place and space, until we find that here we are in internal, eternal collision with the songs of our very own soul, itself an echo of the hymn of Spirit.

— After what felt like a lifetime of searching for a place to lay down my body and call home, I, not accidentally but coincidentally, moved to Costa Rica a year ago. I wrote an essay about time collapsing onto itself and in peculiar way finding home in foreign places. Read “The Terracotta Colored Earth Here” on amandanorgaard.substack.com

Hello, hi you enchanted life 🌹 full of depth, zest, women, dogs and the moon. I am in utter devotion as I tend to the garden of life as an entire ecological mandala (inspired by @cosmogyny and her brilliant writing, follow her Substack and also become a @the_emerald_podcast patreon) — Creativity unfurling from my very roots, something has quieted down — silence now I hear a deep call from the sea to nurture biochemical balance because our perception creates our reality, but our perception is informed by our glandular intelligence and secretion, so I am once again off coffee and other dopamine triggers (will write an essay about it) Instead I plant my feet deep in the moist, mineral jungle soil where the ants bite my tanned feet feels like small blessings as I move my breath with the wind and my hands through the atmosphere. There is something to the gentle breakthrough under the full moon, where something is realized not from the mind but from within this breathing body, so very alive. And there are hummingbirds in my garden.

I moved into my new house 11 days ago, and the house is starting to smell like me. Like home. It’s partially the perfume I’ve worn since I was 22, partially the natural fragrance vaporizing from my skin and partially hinoki incense. Sweetness. My year of packing, unpacking, settling and leaving multiple times a month is officially over. And I can’t tell you (but I think you can read it) how grateful I am to finally have a place to grow heavy, tired and relaxed. A Place Called Home. To remain unpacked. In the morning I wake up pleasantly sleepy to the sound of the humming jungle. At night she sings me to sleep. To sleep in my own sheets, to let the prayers on my altar create deep ripples and to make my own beverages in the morning, is simply all I am asking of home. Last year I listened to “A Place Called Home” on repeat. Now, this is it 🦋

The Mystery doesn’t speak dopamine, she speaks in slow, sensual, sacred; rapturous tongue 🍇

(In the midst of it all we birthed an @illumination__vibration membership — ILLUMINATION FOREVER, for deeper studies of all things creativity, community, kundalini and the mystery 🎐)

Hard times require furious dancing and fierce friendships. This year I tore my entire life up by the very roots. This year I have prayed with the full length of my body.
