What an absolute pleasure to sit down with @sallygunnell and @luca_bigg this week in their @lifeshurdle coaching community🎙️

One thing that always trips people up on their health and fitness journey is the line between genuine self-compassion and just…making excuses.

Here’s the simple question I use:

Does this choice reduce your suffering while still holding your goal, or does it take you further away from the goal altogether?

Genuine self-compassion asks, “What do I need right now to keep going?”
Faulty self-compassion asks, “How do I avoid this immediate discomfort?”

One keeps you moving forward, even if slower, even if softer. The other quietly takes you off the path and calls it kindness.

Being kind to yourself isn’t the same as letting yourself off the hook. The real skill is learning to tell the difference, in the moment, before you’ve already made the excuse.

This is the Monday reminder we all need this morning 👇🏻

Some days I just roll out the mat and breathe. Or I go for a walk.
But I always show up - even if it’s messy, slow, or far from perfect.

This is what real consistency looks like.
Not 100% every day. Just never fully stopping. 💛

One of the biggest hurdles I see on this health & fitness journey is the pressure to be perfect week in, week out.

So this is your sign to adopt my approach:

Go slow.
Do it even when it isn’t perfect.
Take a day off.

But… never stop. ❤️

As @luca_bigg shows us, pushing for 100% every day can lead to injury, burnout, and actually hinder your progress.

Instead, listen to your body.
Some days, you might lift just 40% of your usual weight - but if you gave it your all, that’s your 100%.

Sally Gunnell grew up on a farm in Essex, with no lottery funding behind her. In 1993 she won Olympic Gold in Barcelona and broke the World Record in Stuttgart the following year to become World Champion. Along the way, she discovered that winning has less to do with the body than the mind.

What a weekend.

Snuggled up in bed on a bank holiday Monday, exhausted but elated.

@carfestevent was just a joy.

I was lucky enough to spend my days with the most beautiful mix of inspiring guests. Each with a story, wisdom or advice that lifted, moved and shifted the (sometimes a bit soggy) people that came and spent their time with us. Thank you for anyone that came in.

I laughed, cried, danced, sang, made the most amazing new friends and caught up with wonderful old pals too.

I can hardly speak but I am floating with happiness at the joy and connection this event brings all whilst raising cash for so many UK charities.

Total magic.

I’ve had to close the doors on our next 8-Week Programme because we’ve hit capacity!!

Honestly, we SO excited to get started with our next group of ladies on Monday 31st August 🙌🏻
