I thought it was about time I told you more about my addiction 😆

It’s all consuming and costly but the rewards outweigh the time and money. Ageing is a weary business so it’s important you do it well and surround yourself with others who understand.

The hoodie is my declaration to an all consuming new love that’s very infectious 😘

How do you make yours?

It’s important you taste as you go. Season well.

I add more wild garlic and seasoning as I go, until I’ve made a thick and tasty garlic pesto. If you love Parmesan and Pine nuts, you can add more.

My Recipe:
Colander of washed wild garlic
200 ml Extra Virgin Olive oil
1/4 to 1/2 cup of toasted pine nuts
1 cup of Parmesan
Salt and ground black pepper

I did it!

10 days and 160 food boxes delivered to the authors and hosts at the Faversham Literary Festival.
Each box was carefully packed with homemade food prepared daily.

I’m exhausted but absolutely thrilled to have been part of this incredible event.

Each day I met new people, chatted, laughed and walked 10,000+ steps hand delivering all the boxes to the multiple venues in Faversham.

Amanda Dackombe has once again surpassed herself with another epic lineup in this year’s festival.
What an awesome achievement.
And a big WOW to all the incredible venue volunteers, venue managers and sound crews, they’re all AMAZING 🤩

Faversham was buzzing and it’s all thanks to @favlitfest. Visitors enjoying Faversham and spending money - what an economic boom for little ole Fav 🥰

This is how you network... just doing things you love, with decent people.
Building up a circle of people you love and trust, makes work so much less....worky, don't you think?

What an incredible experience I’ve had.

To put this into context, Sheila and I met 40 years ago at cookery college and our shared love of food, teaching and friendship, and Sheila’s incredible connections made this lifetime highlight happen.

Never in my wildest dreams of arranging my trip to Zimbabwe did I imagine I would have the privilege and experience of working in the bush with the sound of lions during dinner service, elephants stomping by, and rhinos snorting in the river!

George and Operson were incredible chefs that made me laugh so much. At times the kitchen was around 40 degrees and ingredients didn’t always behave as we wanted or expected.

BTS Videos / pics include:

Looking after Steve Wonder, the name of the sour dough starter. And part of the training was to talk about looking after Stevie so he doesn’t die.

Wrap making with Operson and Tino.

Elephant guard near the washing up area.

The laid dinner table where we ate each night with the guests and guides.

Me and Operson discussing the making of the cheesecake base.

Nuts galore with Kent raspberries in a cake 🍰

I make it quite often because it always gets devoured and it needs no sickly buttercream but is very delicious served with a dollop of crème fraiche or cream 😋
