Sabirin Osoble (@luvsbrn)is a London-based poet and multidisciplinary artist, weaving storytelling with themes of identity, culture, community, and love.

At Softer Harder, she shares a piece on the blossoming of identity Exploring what it means to hold multiple selves, to grow, and to understand yourself through others. Rooted in nature, the work searches for meaning in connection.

Up Next: Softer Harder is a performance night and exhibition examining female sexuality, lust, and desire. ⭐️

The show will specifically be looking at female sexual identity within a digital context, looking at how women are
reclaiming their bodies and their sexualities in today’s tech-heavy climate. Inspired by the millennial and gen-z adolescence of spending nights on Omegle with friends, reading erotica on Wattpad, and reposting lewd gifs on Tumblr, the exhibition and performance night will be an intimate and humorous exploration of digital culture and sex.

Why does Sabirin love it? In her words:

"'Poor' is quite a heavy book exploring grief, a grief that can only be experienced in specific contextual and environmental settings. In this case, it is young Black boys in council estates. It touches on issues with class and racism, and the heightened level of threat young Black boys face living in London due to these systemic oppressions.

The photography marries well with the content of the poems. There are smiles and there are stills. There is gentrification and there is eviction. There is love and there is community. This is Black life in London.”
