Ended the @arizonagravelseries with an age group win at @chinogrinder last weekend! Truthfully I didn’t feel my best going into this race and didn’t meet my goal time, but I’m glad I toughed it out and got it done. Thank you @kic.coaching for helping me prep for my first season of gravel, it’s been so much fun and I can’t wait for more! @bespokehausracing @landiscycleryenveracing @cyclefixes #esigrips #gravelracing #arizona

Rider Spotlight // Meet Maddie Torres

At just 14 years old, Maddie Torres of Vail, Arizona, is already making a name for herself in the gravel racing scene.

Maddie’s cycling journey began on the mountain bike trails, racing in the ACA and MBAA series before taking on a new challenge and transitioning to gravel racing two years ago. It didn’t take long for her talent to shine. In her first season of gravel racing, Maddie captured the Under-29 Arizona Gravel Series Championship. This year, she’s continued her impressive rise, earning the BWR Quad-Tripel Crown in the 18U division and recently finishing 3rd in the 18U category on the demanding 108-mile Black Course at SBT GRVL.

But for Maddie, racing is about more than results.

One event she’s especially excited to return to is Village Gravel.

“Village Gravel has everything I love about this sport. The scenery is beautiful, the atmosphere is so welcoming, and there are always fun events that bring everyone together. It’s one of those races that reminds me why I love gravel racing, and I can’t wait to be back on the start line.”

While she loves the competition, it’s the adventure, friendships, and community that keep her coming back. Maddie embodies everything that’s great about gravel racing—pushing her limits while embracing the people and experiences that make the sport so special.

We’re excited to welcome Maddie back to Flagstaff this August and can’t wait to see what she accomplishes on race day.

When life serves up 💩, you get with a group of friends and go out for a pedal in high 70s weather towards the end December. The Old Tucson 10er is a month out and needed some cycle time with great people.

🎉 Village Gravel’s Wacky Awards — Because EVERY Rider Deserves to Be Celebrated 🎉
At Village Gravel, we don’t just celebrate the podium — we celebrate every bit of grit, creativity, chaos, and character that shows up on race day.
And our 2025 Wacky Awards were next-level iconic. Check out these legendary wins:
✨ DFL 100-Miler: Rolled home in heroic fashion and cruised off with a Lazy Boy Chair. If you’re gonna finish last, finish lounging.
🚴‍♂️ DFL 60-Miler: Took home a $200 @thundermountainbikes online store gift card — proof that slow and steady can still score major gear.
🚴‍♀️DFL 30-Miler, Youngest and Oldest Rider and Best Kitted
Each walked away with fresh @specializedarizona helmets — equal parts safety and style.
🌾 Best Dirt Lines: Those perfect dust stripes earned a @teamzealios body care bundle. Dirt never looked so good.
👖 Most Denim Worn: The jorts legend claimed Ripton shorts from @absolutebikes and an adventure pack from @squirrels_nut_butter Denim domination at its finest.
📸 Most Pics With SnapSquatch: The social butterfly won a Theragun courtesy of @elevatedcareaz . SnapSquatch clearly has a favorite.
🔥 Cry Later KOM/QOM Champions:
Each distance crowned its own King and Queen of the mountain — and these crushers walked away with a @crylatersupply crew sweatshirt. Earn the climb, wear the crown.

Why do we do all this?
Because Village Gravel is a celebration — not just of speed, but of community, character, creativity, and courage.
Everyone deserves a moment. Everyone deserves a story. Sometimes… everyone deserves a Lazy Boy.

Want in on the fun?
Village Gravel returns August 22, 2026 in Flagstaff, AZ.
Expect more miles, more dust, more denim, more SnapSquatch, more KOM/QOM battles, and definitely more wacky awards.
Come race. Come party. Come win something weird and wonderful.
Link in bio.
