A quick photo dump because we’re still floating on the amazing energy from yesterday’s @makeathek workshop at @goetheinstitut_athen ! 🧵✨

So many creative hands reimagining old textiles together. 🥰

From custom pouches to personalized coaster collages that marked the start of a collective hobby. This is exactly what happens when libraries open up as vibrant, collective makerspaces.🥹🔥

A massive thank you to everyone who brought their energy, practice and stories to the table! 💛

✍️ Workshop facilitation & coordination: @lydiamonfort3 extra facilitators and special thanks to Akrivi Lazaratou & Maria-Daphne Salari ( aka @moodoosoo.athens )
Their wonderful support and creative presence was a great gift to all!

Мокрое валяние-волшебный процесс ! В этом смогли убедиться участницы мастер-класса. Многие впервые держали шерсть в руках, но мужественно и вдохновленно шли к готовому изделию!

🌍 10 towns. 3 countries. 12 days. 450 people.

Here's the story of how a moving makerspace brought circular fashion and crafts to 10 towns in 3 countries, and 450+ participants.

Last summer, @makeathek 's van, Matty, hit the road. Packed with a tent, tables, a handful of domestic sewing machines, many other tools and materials and the shared expertise of dedicated local partners. The van transformed ten local libraries across Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania into engaging community hubs, into circular nodes.

Explore how it connected the communities, extended circular practices, and reactivated local expertise via the link in bio.
