What a beautiful whirlwind of a weekend for our @tazeen.lufuki project Indus Blues. We’re grateful to @lyn_rye_music for inviting us to play at the epic first Festival of Sufi Arts at @elasticarts. She brought together artists from different Sufi paths who create art as an expression of Divine Love and whose artistic path and spiritual path are one and the same. Offering music along side Lyn, Hamnavai, and the many poets, visual artists, and writers was an honor.

Spending time with our Chicago fam is always blessed and this time the family has grown. We were honored to be joined by our incredibly talented and kind brother @manindersmusic on tabla and to have Lyn jump on double bass for Journey in Satchidananda and our favorite original, Blues Salawat- I promise it’ll come out soon yall! The wonderful young brothers at @shrutiboxstudios recorded a few Indus Blues songs at their studio. Whenever you’re in Chicago, definitely check them out. They’re doing incredible and important work uplifting South Asian and underrepresented artists.

Read more about Indus Blues on my website www.tazeenayub.org. Link in bio.

Check out Elastic Arts YouTube page for the livestreamed recording of Sunday’s event.

Back in February @beprimitive asked Shruti Box to assemble an ensemble for an event of theirs. @singertanveersapra lead the set with vocals as well as @sksundar16 on tabla @yash.matharu supported on rabab and @manjotsmatharu supported on Taus. We were able to get some recordings from the performance, but no video so we wanted to share some pictures along with the audio in this post. If you’d like to hear more we can post the recordings online!
