May is festival season for the bar industry.
With the bar show happening, famous bartenders from all over Japan and around the world come to visit 🌏
This year, I also had the chance to help out at a bar show booth for the first time.
It was a place I’d admired for a long time, so I remember how happy I felt ☺️

I met @d.maxwell0803 for the first time then, and now we stay in touch regularly 👏
The events with Kyoka-san and Marion-san were filled with warmth and great energy from start to finish 🦋🦋

Such a fun May 🙌

Our final cocktail to showcase is the @johanmuseeuw, a Belgian inspired cocktail which resembles beer, but in true @bargemist style, there’s a twist!

This particular cocktail is even more special as we enter our ‘Belgian era’ in 2026, with @gregvanavermaet also joining us on the Isle of Wight & @woutvanaert headlining our Ibiza Joyride Festival - we can’t wait 🙌

These cocktails are exclusively available at Joyride Festival Isle of Wight though, so make sure you’re joining us so you can try them out too!

@bargemist is a new neighbourhood cocktail bar tucked under the railway arches next to Holloway Road Tube Station.

The venue has a pleasant, intimate atmosphere, centred around an island bar counter, with sofas arranged throughout the space to give cosy, living-room vibes. It feels relaxed and welcoming without losing its sense of style.

The food and drink menu is influenced by the owners’ backgrounds. Guests can order warm bretzels with a choice of sides, alongside a well-curated selection of cocktails, wines, and beers — so there’s something for everyone, not just cocktail lovers.

Overall, Bar Germišt is a great addition to the neighbourhood and an ideal spot to spend the evening if quality drinks and excellent hospitality are what you’re after. One thing to note: on match days, travel via Holloway Road Station may be affected.

Cocktail Recommendation:

GEMIST — Keltis Zan Orange Wine, Crémant d’Alsace cordial, mineralised water, bubbles

Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️

Throwback to one of the last events we went to! ♟️

‘Chess & Chat’ organised by Healthy Hospo at Bar Gemišt on Holloway Road, London. A little reunion of hospitality people sharing a quiet moment around chess boards and real conversations about how this challenging industry could improve, especially when it comes to work-life balance.

But also an afternoon to truly enjoy the present moment, sipping on non-alcoholic cocktails and good drinks together. 🍸

Cheers to more honest events like this! ➰

Last night we geared ourselves up for #worldmartiniday with a few favourite bars.

Starting off early at No Regrets Lounge at @stephenwebsterjewellery in Burlington Arcade. We had a Dirty Martini and a Health Nut Martini which is a take on the Gibson with @nickstrangeway behind the bar.

Then straight up the Piccadilly Line to @bargemist in Holloway where they are doing a special Martini Week menu with @chopinvodka. We had a 4 Martinis - Potato Salat, Blaukraut, Dry Martini, Sauerkraut. Fab to see @mari___zo and @cocktail.lifestyle!

To round the night off, it was a trek over to Dalston to @tdyk_london to see @the_lord_of_the_drinks_89. The Truffle Martini and Oyster Shell Martini which was on the special Martini Week menu with @greygoose were the last Martinis of the night.

Did we have No Regrets and “Mist” anything today? As they say, it’s always the Devil you know!

Cheers to @WorldMartiniDay for a great day of celebratory Martinis!

2025 gave us two huge milestones and countless memories 🚲🏔️🍸

Our first public escape to Pokljuka, deep in the Julian Alps. Long climbs, cold air, quiet roads and that feeling of riding somewhere truly special, shared with an incredible group of people.

And then opening @bargemist in London. What started as a cycling idea is now a real place to meet, refuel, plan routes and celebrate the ride. A home for SloVelo and a growing cycling hub in North London.

Thank you to everyone who joined the rides, trusted us enough to travel with us, supported the project and helped turn ideas into reality. You made 2025 unforgettable.

Here’s to more escapes, more miles and many stops at the bar. ❤️🚲

Another year of sitting on hundreds of gigs of drink photos and not deciding on what made a lasting impression until it was almost over (to be fair a lot of these are drinks that were tried in q4 so a lot of surprise late entries)

Another series of big flavours that were ridiculously easy to drink and unmatched in their respective styles. Always a bit surprised at my list because on paper some of these I wouldn’t expect to order but I’m glad I did

Again I didn’t go to every bar in London nor did I try every menu drink, just my personal thoughts on what stood out, how quickly I wanted another one and how unfazed I was by the bill due to post-drink euphoria (and if you look up the prices of some these it will make your head fall off)

Order while you still can, cause a good portion of what’s here will most likely not be around when new menu season hits

Oh and the drink @bargemist is actually much larger than the photo shows, this was just a taster but I didn’t take a photo of the full sized version I ordered after

Last week we took a little trip out of the bar with our tools for @leblanq.tour and got a first taste of what’s coming to the Joyride Festival this June on the Isle of Wight. 🚴‍♀️🍸
We showcased a few of the drinks we’re putting on the menu for the festival, built for long rides, good legs and even better celebrations after.
And yes… one of the highlights was serving @sportsorla a non-alc drink inspired by herself. 🧚‍♀️

An Orla, served to Orla. As it should be. 😌✨
June can’t come soon enough.
