Great food, a rooftop, and a dance party right in the middle of dinner.

New York After Dark closed out Saturday at the New York City Wine & Food Festival, up on the rooftop at Pier 17. Kwame Onwuachi hosted his first-ever signature event here, and The New York Times named his Tatiana the No. 1 restaurant in New York two years running.

He hand-picked his favorite New York restaurants and chefs, so every station brought something different, from Caribbean flavors to New York classics. Then D-Nice took over, the same DJ whose Club Quarantine pulled in more than 100,000 people in 2020.

If you go next year:

• Get there early, because the first 750 got his new cookbook.
• Try a little of everything.
• Save some energy for the dance floor.

Great chef, great music, and dancing between every bite.

Send this to the friend who dances while they eat. 🎶

A few fun NYC moments lately… ✨

• Joyce surprising me with Chris Brown + Usher tickets — the show was EVERYTHING 🔥
• Cocktails + dinner with Ariel at Black-owned speakeasy Do Not Disturb 🍸
• Dinner with Denise at Marquette — Caribbean x European fusion ✨
• A little art + culture at The Cooper Union — KAWS founder Brian Donnelly live with Dan Nadel 🎨

Great music, fabulous food, art + even better company. 🖤✨

Start at @carversteaknyc, the Las Vegas steakhouse that landed two blocks from the Richard Rodgers Theatre, which makes it the pre-theatre dinner in the Theater District. Let the Old Fashioned cart come to your table first, where they build the drink in front of you, then order the dry-aged steak and sides. Book early enough to linger, because this isn’t a dinner you want to rush.

From there it’s a short walk to @hamiltonmusical. Nothing beats the box seats, and after the curtain call the cast came out to the stage door to take photos and sign playbills, which made the night feel even more personal.

End the night at @theargylenyc the cocktail bar hidden below @marketterestaurant in Chelsea. Order whatever the bartender recommends, because the cocktails are the reason to come. It’s open until 1am, so there’s no rush after the show.

BRAISED OXTAIL GRATIN 10/10
Hearty dish! Loved it so much! This would be a perfect holiday side! Something about it felt so warm and comforting! No lack of flavor either!

PAN-SEARED DORADE 8/10
Extremely flavorful! Very fresh! One of the better seafood dishes Ive had the pleasure of eating this year!

RUM RAISIN ICE CREAM 7.5/10
Loved the ice cream but melted very quickly! A softer donut would really take this to the next level. Still enjoyed!

STAFF 10/10
Helpful. Kind, & Entertaining! Cant beat that combo!🥰 Sometimes a bar seat isn’t the most fun. Here it was enjoyable! I am a chatter though.

Today, October 5th, The Argyle welcomes the team from Kaito del Valle to Chelsea.

Led by Claudia Cabrera, Kaito draws from the energy of Japanese izakaya culture, bringing together Japanese flavors with a distinctly Mexican point of view. Currently ranked #25 in North America’s 50 Best Bars and powered by an all-female bar team, Kaito brings that perspective into The Argyle’s subterranean space for one night.

Together, the teams will present a special menu connecting Mexico City and New York, powered by Bacardi, accompanied by food from Chef India Doris.

Monday, October 5th
6:00 PM – 9:00 PM
Tickets: $50 🔗 in bio
