That's a wrap on Decorex. Thank you to everyone who came to find us at Olympia. It's been four days of good conversations, familiar faces and first looks at what's new. We brought our first rechargeable lamp, new fabric lampshades and our Richmond desk lamp to the stand, along with an exclusive preview of our redeveloped UK switches and sockets, which we’ve been working on for some time. A highlight was Mary Fellowes in conversation with our marketing director, Claudia Effra-Hume. Few people have worked across fashion, film and sustainability the way Mary has, and her insight into approaching design was both thoughtful and practical. @decorex_international, we’ll see you again next year.

The worker earns a fraction. The customer pays thousands. Everything in between is where luxury becomes fascinating. Brand.
Heritage.
Perception.
Exclusivity.
Desire. The question isn’t whether luxury products cost money to make. The question is: What exactly are customers paying thousands for? @mary_fellowes @henrystownhouse

April and May have been sooo busy. This event was so great and definitely deserves a spot on the grid. On a truly glorious day we visited Thyme in the Cotswolds, to hear from a panel of four fabulous folk who came together to explore a deceptively simple question: what does it really mean to create a “conscious home”? Hosted by Amelia Gilman (founder of Mimi Montagu), the discussion brought together Edward Bulmer (natural paint pioneer), Mary Fellowes (renowned sustainability advocate), and Jamie of Fermoie (textile maker with a refreshingly pragmatic view of responsible production). The event was a compelling reminder that sustainability in the home is not just about carbon – it’s about health, longevity, transparency, and craft. Some startling insights and statistics were shared about the toxicity of our homes and I came away thinking that every decision I make in future must be a conscious one. #interiordecor #interiordesignuk #greatdesign #houseandgardenuk #refurb Interiors event, Cotswolds. On Friday, I spent a lovely morning at the Conscious Home event at Thyme 🌿 A really thoughtful and much needed conversation about what responsible interiors actually mean in practice, not just in theory. The key for me is that every discussion like this helps share valuable knowledge so that everyone can make better decisions. It was a wonderful panel hosted by @mimimontagu who spoke about sustainability needing to feel inspiring rather than preachy, and about making choices that support our health and the way we live. Edward Bulmer Founder of Edward Bulmer Natural Paint reminded us how important it is to understand what is actually in the products we bring into our homes, especially paints and finishes, and why transparency matters. Jamie Shawcross from Fermoie shared how responsibility has to run right through a business, from materials and suppliers to people and waste. And MaryFellowes from Greenwith Studio stressed something so important, that responsible design is often about working with what we already have. Keeping key pieces and valuing what exists rather than replacing things for the sake of it. I am reminded once again that responsible choices are rarely about doing more, they are about being more thoughtful in the decisions we make. Thank you so much to Milly, Molly and the team at Thyme for hosting such a brilliant morning, and to all the panel for such an inspiring conversation. #conscioushome #responsibleinteriors #healthyhomes #interiordesign #thoughtfuldesign #sustainablehomes
