Today I went to Books, Blooms & Magic at Calgo Gardens to support some author friends. Wow, what an incredible event! Beautiful decorations, food, music and so many talented authors and artists. I bought too much and got zero housework done today, but that’s what Saturdays are for, right?
It was great to see you, @saylivvy, @christyshillig, @linnymackwrites, and @iolanda_s_author. Can’t wait to read your books! I also enjoyed meeting @mbparadiseauthor - check out her children’s book Beach Santa.
Thanks for hanging out with me, @gail.aherne - hope to see you again soon!
Huge thanks to @calgogardens, @boundforadventurebooks, @tuliptreecafe and @inbloom_at_calgogardens for making this wonderful event happen - it was a fun day!

Got my end-of-summer beach reads this week at @lbibookswap in Beach Haven (recently voted #1 indie bookstore in the country by USA Today 👏👏👏). Thanks to bookseller Julie Intorella for the recommendations and indie author advice...and to my old NJN colleague (and fellow Jersey Girl sailor/scuba diver) @sandradlevine for the PR and photos.

Also seen on the local author shelves:

And don’t even talk to me about summer being over until at least September 22.

Today our students had the opportunity to meet a very special guest author... our new secretary @mbparadiseauthor 📚✨

She shared her picture book, Beach Santa, and talked with students about the writing process, creativity, and the inspiration behind her story.

The students loved hearing from a real author and learning that great stories can come from ordinary people right in our own school community.

Thank you for spending the day with our students and inspiring the next generation of readers, writers, and storytellers. ❤️

Have you ever met an author in person?
