Pulling out some seriously incredible wines to make this the best celebration of Champagne that Toronto has ever seen. If you haven’t purchased your ticket yet, I would strongly suggest you get on it.

The second annual Champagne festival is now officially live. What makes me so proud to host this event is that it’s a true celebration of the wine region, and not just a promotion of the wonderful producers I’m lucky enough to work with. This will be the most holistically approached event with bottles available from some of the most allocated growers, and big houses alike. Thanks for making me feel like this was worth doing again. Toronto, an endless amount of gratitude 🙏

Weszeli ‘Caractere’ Grüner Veltliner from Kamptal.

Hand-picked from three vineyards, three different soils. A little skin contact, wild ferment, eight months on lees.

Green apple, lemon, white pepper, lots of zip.

For the Sancerre drinkers.

🔊I often carry a little speaker in my handbag when I go to wine tastings because, when everyone loosens up, I’m convinced a great tune will turn any room into a dance floor.

At least, that’s usually the case.

But at Pop et Hip Hop, my speaker remained firmly in my bag…

…because ALL the vibes were covered 🍾

For 2 days this week @milenaberman , @drinkdujac , @realwolfofwine , @loic_w_lamy , @zoe.dncr , @zacharyb87 and the entire Pop et Hip Hop family came together with an amazing group of forward-thinking growers to inject some welcome pizazz into the champagne region.

What they created is astonishing. It’s way more than an event. It shows the best of people - wine, music, culture, generosity, connection and opportunity all rolled into one.

It’s inclusive, not performative. It’s actions over words. It expands the sense of belonging and brings those who already belonged even closer together.

It sends energy throughout the whole wine collective, keeps it culturally relevant and - if you’re inclined to judge results by numbers - sells a shit ton of wine!

What they do for the industry deserves medals all round.

Thank you for another unforgettable few days. See you in October!

Cédric Bouchard’s signature is Champagne reduced to its purest expression: single vineyard, one grape, with an intense focus on transparency, texture, and site over blending or overt winemaking. Les Ursules is the emblematic cuvée, made from 100% Pinot Noir from a single parcel in Celles-sur-Ource, whether in its vintage or non-vintage form, always showing that incisive, terroir-driven style that defines Bouchard’s work. O.P., or Œnothèque Personnelle, offers a more mature expression, drawn from extended cellar aging and showing greater depth, savory complexity, and layered detail.
.
Across the range, the through-line is unmistakable: precision, tension, and a distinctly personal vision of Champagne. And if you get the opportunity to try a rare Magnum, you are in for the ultimate experience.
